Re: What grinds your gears ?

Stuff that works 98%. Stuff you can't figure out why is failing. Case in point: My A4000D that wont work with gfx cards (it can see the config), wont work with the combo of all motherboard SIMMs and my A3640 card, and which will typically stop working after an hour or so of use. It needs a proper Ch...

Re: Did I miss the Winter isssue or...?

13 is easy enough as 52 is a multiple of it. Which meant that Back In The Day (i.e. like when you still called it C&VG) the 13th issue was called Christmas. For those that gave month names to their issues. Wasn't the Christmas issue typically the biggest and bestest of the year? (I'd expect many had...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

The battery charged all right (well, the car didn't sound too happy the first few minutes) and was back to normal this morning. I'll have the battery replaced at the checkup next week. EDIT: And it died the weekend after and then refused to take charge. Had to get jumpstarted and had Ford fit a new ...

What car?
It's a 2012 Ford Focus Station Wagon 1.6Turbo. Ford dealer recommended a battery charger - I should buy one anyway - and I'll be in for a recall next week anyway. (If I can get it to start.)

Re: What grinds your gears ?

Bought used car 2 months ago (really happy with it). Come home from 3 weeks Christmas holidays to find it sitting dead in the garage. (Probably flat battery, but can I expect this to happen again if I fix that?)

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

I think there was even an ADAM version that controlled a laserdisc to play a perfect version - can anyone confirm? I could imagine re-skinning the GBA Warioland code to make parts of a DL "de-make". Castles and stone buildings always look great in pixel graphics. Oh, I think I have a suggestion for ...

Re: Magazine Quality - Latest issue

#187, page 20, lover left corner has what I though at first was a design thing, but looking at it, it appears to be an ink smear or spot. All the right hand pages seem less crumpled than the left hand sides - or perhaps that is the front of a page is smoother than the back? A close look at my most r...

e-mail from Future Publishing

Why is it that all e-mails from Future are totally gibberish in its formatting and impossible to read in my web mail portal? Funny thing is, do you know what the exception is? The "re-subscribe early at discount" mail I just got. But then again, that department probably take care to make sure it can...

Was there also a "connection" with Nick Pelling, or am I crossing wires?

Re: Questions for Tony 'Big K' Takoushi

Did you work directly for C&VG or just freelance? Did you know Paul Woakes directly? Was the Mercenary preview considered a scoop in magazine circles? Did you score many scoops? What do you remember best? Wasn't the world a more exciting place way back when, when you had umpteen different systems an...

Habla Espanol?

Did anyone mention that RG is publishing a Spanish edition, with a slight local editorial part at the beginning?
I have a snap on my phone - I'll get it uploaded (the Tetris front page).
