I'm surprised a lot more Spectrum owners aren't stating this too! It was the only tape I had for a while!! ;)

oh, my fave was the good ol' Ultimate system of Q, W, E and R - it made their games so much more playable..

..yeah right, WHAT the hell were they thinking when they did that? Did the joystick manufacturers put them up to it or summat??!!! :p

Black Celebration is two-thirds a great album. I always skip New Dress, Sometimes and those terrible bonus tracks at the end of the CD! The follow-up Music For The Masses was a WAY better album - not a duff track on it. Playing The Angel is great and I can't understand why people hate it so much. I'...

My favourite? A level about midway through the game named St Francis' Folly. It was a very deep pit with a structure you had to navigate down, several hundred metres. Stand Lara on the edge and swan dive off. As she falls, she screams, and impacts on the bottom some seconds later in a glorious, cru...

No mentions of "The Dig"? That's the only one I've played so far and I loved it but got a bit stuck so gave up on it... Wonderfully eerie game though - I really must re-visit it sometime soon :)

That was Issue 26 - I will never forget it. I have plans to record and clean up "Thalamusik" off that tape to get rid of all the hiss. Anyone interested in the end results?

I guess this doesn't really count as a Retro game as it's only about three years old but, Indiana Jones And The Emperor's Tomb (PC version) is utterly INFURIATING as it doesn't have the save-game option that every other game I've played (all the Tomb Raiders, Indy Jones And The Infernal Machine - a ...

This is rapidly becoming a brand new topic! Perhaps a moderator can split off the last few posts into a new thread called "Confessions Of A Retro Gamer"??? 8) Anyway, I have a similar confession to make. We used to have a video rental shop which branched into selling computer games and they always h...

Ballblazer? Nah loved it. Now The Eidolon on the other hand... I never saw the attraction sadly. Lacked something compared to the maniac shooting and planning in Koronis Rift. The Eidolon was WAY too difficult. I played through it with an infinite energy poke and I STILL found it too tough. Stunnin...

I have a PC and hardly use it to play games however, Half Life 2 is the exception. I spent a month in that game - absolutely stunning! If you're unsure about modern games, play the original HL first, then get this - you won't be disappointed.

HM was a fantastic game - I lost myself in that one for months - sooo hypnotic. This is another reason why I was looking forward to Citadel so much!!

This was the very first site I came across when I discovered the internet:

http://www.csd.uwo.ca/Infocom

It's dated badly and half the links are broken but, by golly, it presses the nostalgia button in me! ;)

This looks more up to date!

Re:

For me it would have to be Elite, obviously. Completely free roaming, filled-in textured graphics, totally online and populated with players all over the world. The potential is awesome. If only we could raise a stack of cash to persuade Braben and Bell to speak to each other. I'll second that. Wha...
