Re: what are somethings you like or dislike about modern gam

actually testing the games and fixing them instead of shipping them so broken they need to be patched in the first place would be even better ( never been bethesda's strong point daggerfall is buggy morrowind is buggy oblivion is buggy ) fallout 3 the main story has a censored poor ending and the g...

Re: what are somethings you like or dislike about modern gam

and on the dislike part of things other then publishers selling us broken games that need patches ( fallout new vegas) or selling half a game at full price and the dripfeeding us dlc's and mini expansion packs ( that would be bethesda's schtick ) Patches may not be great, but that's better than gam...

Re: The DOS games thread

It is a problem, yeah. I haven't yet been able to start Buck Rogers because the version I got is bugged. I tried getting X-Com: Terror From The Deep running too, to no avail. As an aside, I gather that TftD is better than the original X-Com (although I admit I prefer the land-based setting to underw...

The DOS games thread

It seems we don't get a great deal of DOS-gaming love on this forum, but hopefully I am not alone in appreciating some of the fantastic DOS titles that were released over the years - so let's make this thread a place to make recommendations/sharing of experiences. To kick-off, did anybody ever play ...

Re: Homebrew - Love it or loathe it?

Yep the best memories come from the games you played as a kid. But i also like 'discovering' some of the old games i never played back then, over the years i've found many more great Speccy games i never played back in the 80's or games on consoles i never had. The homebrew games i dont think of as...

Re: Homebrew - Love it or loathe it?

I have no interest in homebrew and don't read it but don't really care that it's there either for those that are interested in it. For me retro is all about a period in time rather than a style to ape; it's a mindset.

I missed that whole episode at the time, but just reading the first few posts I can't believe anybody took it seriously. Good drama at the time though I suppose.

Re: From the Forum question for issue 84

The best gaming-related present is waking up on Christmas Day and finding my love for gaming hasn't diminished at all.

Re: Issue 83 Feedback

Another simpleton who doesn't quite understand the feedback thread..... It's funny, isn't it? So many people on this forum are so precious and sycophantic it's unreal. For those too stupid/ignorant to understand, nobody in here is saying Nintendo shouldn't get coverage. What people are commenting o...

Re: Issue 83 Feedback

Will all the Nintendo hating prats please calm down and stop p*ssing in their panties just because Nintendo Characters have graced the cover for a couple of issues.. The Mario thing was essential due to the anniversary, and Donkey Kong Country Returns comes out on Wii next month and is a big releas...

Re: Issue 83 Feedback

And so the Nintendo love-in continues for another issue. *sigh* I know Darran has said that the coverage of it will tone down a bit, but still, this is another issue that'll be a slog to get through. Interested in the Bond and piracy features, and that's pretty much it. Next month certainly doesn't ...

Re: Why I stopped reading Retro Gamer

Excellent post Rodarkone. I just think that some people are plain spoilt/greedy, and that's simply all there is to it. What? Spoilt or greedy for *choosing* to not buy a magazine? What is wrong with some of you people? No man - it's not the point - buying or not buying something is a consumer choic...

Re: Why I stopped reading Retro Gamer

Granted if 4 issues in a row i found completely dire then i would stop buying it. But i cant believe theres an issue where 100% of it people dislike (and say thats the same for 4 straight issues). And yep if someone 'stops buying RG its good for Darren and co to know why. But you have to admit ANY ...
