Re: Is RG 'mainstream' these days?

I just discovered this incredible magazine last November and subscribed to it right away, altough I missed the Dec issue :(. Every single issue has been mind blowing so far and I really feel it's one of the best designing and passionate writing I've seen in any publication to date... and I read a l...

Re: Load 2 :)

As a regular collector (and subscriber) of R.G. I obviously bought a copy of Load 2 DVD rom to complete my collection, and to protect unnecessary fingering of my beloved collection by friends. I noticed for the first time (perhaps it was in Load 1 also?) that where you would have in the printed mag...

Re: The Iphone debate.

I can fully understand why a number of people are feeling p!ssed off and maybe a little betrayed in this instance. How can you be betrayed by getting exactly what Darren said? How can you be betrayed by getting retro styled games reviewed - just like every other issue of the mag? To be fair he's go...

Re: The Iphone debate.

In fairness Darran, I agree - at the moment. This months issue probably ranks as one of the best in recent months in terms of Retro content, I can still quickly flick past the mobile stuff with a satisfying grunt of disinterested arrogance, my concerns are more focussed on a general trend toward ca...

Re: Official feedback for ISSUE 61

He said it'd possibly have regular coverage in the reviews section. Given the rate iPhone/iPod touch games are appearing, and the quality of the retro titles (while it's no SIE, Centipede is an amazing game for three quid—far, far better value than every budget game I ever bought for 8-bit, with th...

Re: Official feedback for ISSUE 61

The GTA History was ours and ended up in other IP mags, we certainly didn't re-use the content from a previous Imagein mag. As for the Resident Evil piece that's a full on Retro Gamer exclusive, although it's so hot I wouldn't be surprised if other editors want to get their hands on it... Good stuf...

Re: Official feedback for ISSUE 61

Does the making of Resident Evil share any of the stuff that's appeared in any other various Imagine-published mags of late (including a special book with X360), and as happened with the GTA history?

The old retro gamer lasted 18 issues. The new one has more than doubled that, so I think it's safe to say that a lot of people prefer the new bent, otherwise it wouldn't be around. I'd rather keep my job then potentially push boundaries - as was done in the past - that ultimately led to the demise ...

Not bothered about a disc any more , especially after seeing what's happened to Totaal PC Gaming What would like to see however is a tribute pullout like the Crash/Zzap! ones , a poster like the Game Over one Most of all though I would love to see RG give us a retro calendar free with each November...

MicroProse Soccer (C64) - it was simply fantastic. One of the first football (or maybe any sports titles?) games to have weather effects that made a difference, loads of teams, plenty of options, excessive swerve! Never cared much for the 5-a-side on the other side of the tape though. Happy days ind...

It's strange people going-on about 3D PC games not being retro, yet we've had plenty of other-platform 3D stuff covered. Bizarre.

It's nice to see the PC being catered-for, actually, and it's good that it's to continue. What chances of an article on Freespace 2, I wonder?

Surely many of you are just as bad as the sellers though ? Eg a seller might say "100 quid for that as i know i can get that on ebay" but how many of you have bought something off some granny or some bloke who doesnt know anything about retro, eg a few retro consoles/computers and hes asked for jus...

yes people have been interviewed in the past a number of times, but it's always about different things. we can't help it if people like Jon hare made a load of great games that readers will want to read about. I certainly see your point, but it's no different to mags like empire, Total film, Q and ...

Repeat performances

A genuine query here as I look through the contents of issue 54, and I wonder if the amount of available content is beginning to wear a bit thin? And to clarify, by available I mean people willing to talk about their past exploits and such. The only reason I ask is because this is Jon Hare's 3rd app...

GTFOH I was pointing out that magazines don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. That's coming from a huge mag fan. Real life matters, mags are a luxury. I'm actually genuinely amused that you don't seem to comprehend exactly why that is a completely stupid thing to say. But hey, nice att...
