Seeing as Zelda is not sold out yet, I bet you will be able to get a copy at launch.:)

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Man, Switch menus are quick at least. Compared to 3DS and WiiU...this is something else.:)

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

One point to consider is that you're speaking from the British point of view. The N64 was popular in the US and we could say that Nintendo has always treated the European territory as an afterthought, focusing on the Japanese and US markets. This was something that their rivals used to their benefi...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Spawn Wave talks about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SEmO33srNk So, no official figures, just a YouTuber's opinion, then? For what it's worth, I don't think we're in for anything like the same sort of shortages that happened with the Classic NES. They've only just managed to ship 1.5 mi...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Do you have a source for that? As best I can find, Sony were claiming 2.1 million PS4 sales at the end of November: http://www.sie.com/en/corporate/release/2013/131203b.html While Nintendo are planning for 2 million by the end of March: http://venturebeat.com/2017/01/31/nintendo-still-aims-to-ship-...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

It's not going to be successful if everyone waits to buy it. Given the quantities Nintendo are likely to ship on day one, waiting might be the the only option for most people. Except I heard the sales numbers for PS4 for the first whole month was less than what Nintendo is shipping the first ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

You non Scandinavian Nintendo fans don't know how lucky you are. Retail price for Switch starts at 420 USD here, for what Americans pay merely 299 USD for. Meanwhile, PS4 and Xbone retails for almost American price...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I don't want it to compete with Sony and Microsoft. I want the unique characters and polish Nintendo bring to a game. There is room for the Switch in the market, appealing to a different fanbase to the others. Word. I still want it to be so competitive that we'll see some decent 3rd party support t...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I really look forward to knowing more. Right now, it's all rumors. Which is okay for a while, but I want hard facts soon. So far it looks very promising, except the battery issue.

Being a poor student, definitely the poor use of Virtual Console by Nintendo lately. What a wasted opportunity!

Sega dominance in Europe?

I'm reading a book on Sega's rise and fall these days; Service Games: The Rise and Fall of Sega. A very interesting read, but it had me thinking: It says time and again that Sega was all conquering, so to speak, in Europe until the coming of Playstation, except in Switzerland and "some" Scandinavian...

The masters of Commodore 64 games

So the small Norwegian news/retro gaming site Spillhistorie.no (gaming history translated), has a new article released today. It's a very interesting article on the topic of games mastering, in particular on C64. The author has managed to get his hands on some rare mastering floppies from way back t...
