Re: Thinking about thinking about buying a new car

If you don't mind driving around in what some people seem to think is an "old person's" car* then try a test drive of the Honda Jazz. I've had mine for just over a year, and it pretty much fits your listed requirements - not too small or too big, low tax, low insurance, economical, safe and one of ...

Re: Your Top 3 desired sequels that you know will never get

I wouldn't say no to a Mirror's Edge sequel either, why that game flopped is beyond me because it was awesome. Ooh, yes please! And can get an Outrun 3 as well? With wild tracks and over the top gorgeous scenery. That'd be nice. Well well well... According to former Battlefield producer, Stockholm ...

Re: Windows XP installation help

I ran into the same problem when installing XP on a netbook. Setting the hard drive to IDE in the bios got me past the blue screen, but only led to an installation that took ages and then failed, the same as you experienced. I too had no floppy drive to try to install sata drivers at the start of th...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

What's more, so far the only thing that's making me want to make an IAP is good old fashioned guilt over having so much fun for free. Given that the devs have essentially made naff all out of the game, despite a half-million downloads, I'm sure they'd appreciate a couple of quid sent their way via ...

Re: Racing games

colin mcrae rally 04 is still a great game much better then 3 and still one of my absolute favorites of the series 2005 is also decent but 04 is as far as i am concerned the pinnacle of the series ( its only topped by dirt 2 in my opinion ) Completely agree with all of that. I loaded Colin McRae 04...

Ridge racer 4 was a pretty game indeed. Those skies!

Vanishing Point on ps1 looked very nice too. Almost looked as good as the dreamcast version.

Re: In-App Purchases - do you or don't you?

As others have said, I'll happily make an IAP to turn an ad-supported or a 'lite' version of a game into a full ad-free version if I'm enjoying it. I have no problem with making a one-off purchase to support the devs. Zonr is a good example. It was free but with ads, but if you buy an extra theme (j...

Re: Improvements to Retro Gamer

Similar to the way rg runs articles that spotlight programmers and gives some info about the various game he or she coded, I'd quite like to see articles that spotlight graphic artists, with plenty of screenshots of their work and, if possible, a bit of info about themselves and their technique. Cou...

Re: Issue 106 feedback thread

Hi, I just finished reading issue 106 and just want to say how much I enjoyed it. Highlight articles were.... Tabletop LED games... Though I never owned one, I was fascinated by the couple I saw at a mate's place. Particularly liked the screen shots in the article. Wished there were more of them. Th...
