Re: Game Gear Recommendations
If you only get one Sonic game on the Game Gear, you want to be sure it's Sonic Triple Trouble. Best Sonic game on the system, quite possibly the best GAME on the system. There's a ton of content, including new power-ups, secret boss fights to get some of the Chaos Emeralds, and possibly one of the ...

Re: best jrpg of this generation
Charles Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden wouldn't count, would it? Technically, it's an independently made JRPG, and it's more of a parody. Thing is, though, it just has so many good design decisions that I wish so many other RPGs would use. The ability to run, being able to see enemies on the map, ...

Re: I didn't know you could do that!
I didn't know that there was a shotgun you could find on E1M1 on Doom.
I've been playing it since I was 4.
Yeah.

Re: Street Fighter X Mega Man
With the way Capcom's been treating Mega Man lately, this honestly feels a lot more like damage control to me. They find some fangame (although, I have to admit, it does look high quality), get involved with it, nobody accuses them of trying to kill Mega Man anymore. Everybody wins, except by "every...

Re: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - SEGA's Legacy in
Honestly, I don't see how people can say that this game is "unfair" and not say that Mario Kart isn't. At least this game doesn't have any sort of equivalent of the blue shell. Also, god forbid the characters don't play identically to each other, right? :v Honestly, I still think this is one of the ...

Re: Rick Dangerous.. the old, the new
From the little I played of Rick Dangerous, it always seemed like the ancestor to stuff like I Wanna Be The Guy, or Super Meat Boy. Basically trying to do the same room again and again, only if you die TOO much, you have to do the entire game again.
Yeah, censored that game.
Yeah, censored that game.

Re: the n64
I like the 64 a lot. Sure, it might not have the best controller, there's no denying that. The real issue I have with the controller is that if you ever try to emulate a 64 game, it's really uncomfortable to play a 64 game with any other controller. Especially with the C-buttons. There are a ton of ...

Re: Sub genres that have faded away
I'm thinking that a lot of Rareware's 3D platformers would be where Dizzy or Jet Set Willy would have ended up, given enough time. Wandering around aimlessly and picking up silly collectables is pretty much all you did in those games, and if you got rid of the bullshit difficulty, you'd probably end...

Re: Games that killed a franchise for you.
All New World Of Lemmings... Why change a winning formula!? Honestly? I really wish they kind of went with the interface they used for Lemmings 3. I liked the way the new interface worked, I liked having more controls over the lemmings and not feeling if I made a single mistake, I had to start enti...

Oh, hey, I was wondering what happened to this thread. Now I don't have to use the Football Manager 2013 thread anymore. Hooray! To get to the point, the game's broken street date in the US and people have been poking around in the files, and they've found a few interesting things. Highlight the fol...

Re: Football Manager 13 introduces a Classic mode
Personally, I'm more looking forward to Racing Manager 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY-BaNgouwo&feature=player_embedded Keep in mind that Sumo is a British developer, so I'd imagine that had a big part of how they got him (IS Football Manager a him? I'm not sure.) in there. Yes, this is real...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week
So, I finally beat Sam & Max: Abe Lincoln Must Die. Yes, I know it's been out for forever. I'm slow to beat games, and I'm notoriously bad at adventure games, as much as I'd like to not be. Still, I actually managed to finish this one, and I only had to look up hints for about two puzzles to do it. ...

Re: best graphics of the 32 bit and 64 bit generation
On Playstation... I'd say: The Crash Bandicoot series, Bloody Roar 2, Rayman, The Adventures of Lomax, and R-Type Delta. For Nintendo 64, I'd have to think about it, but Banjo-Tooie would probably be up there somewhere.

Let's name some good point and click adventure games!
Ah, the point and click adventure game. The game of choice for those of us too busy to deal with a silly parser. Collect things! Use them on other things! Talk to people! Die a lot! (Unless you're playing a Lucasarts game, of course.) So, here's some I thought were pretty good. Sure, I could name Mo...

An Escape from Monster Manor Let's Play by the original devs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zR_-E-UCsf0 So I figured a lot of you would find this interesting, even if you've never heard of this game before. Basically, this is two people playing through the old FPS for the 3DO, Escape from Monster Manor. What makes this interesting is...
