Well, it has been in the go for over 14 years. It's understandable.
Maybe the forum should be a retro article in the mag. A lot of the people here, including the editor, were in a lot of other forums way before this one.

Re: Recommend me some older Transformer comic
I would say anything drawn by either Geoff Senior or Lee Sullivan is a good shout, as I always enjoyed those.
I think a lot of Target 2006 was done by them both.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 200
Well, I've had a little butchers through it and I think it is good enough for a sit down. The danger with doing a look through the decades is that you CAN glide too close to things that have been done to death in specials and older issues, which is understandable. I'm lucky in the fact I haven't rea...

Re: Is the forum in decline?
Me too, I just bought 200 after a very long break from the mag (trust me, you don't wanna know how long)
I think life has just gotten in the way, but when you see a Turrican soundtrack..... what are you gonna do?
I am glad the mag is still going very strong though.

Re: Sound of Gaming - Radio 3
I will need to have a look into this at some point. I do think some of those games that are less in the public eye, but still have some outstanding musical tracks in them from the past 20 years should also get a mention.
I do have my suggestions

I haven't been on here properly for a while, so bear with me while I dust my ID off a bit... ;) I've been to 3 of boyo's events, including this one. I can sympathise with Stacy's plight of travel, being a Kilmarnock boy myself, but once again it was worth it. I'll do a couple of shoutouts then, shal...

although the 0898 numbers at the back of the mag are inappropriate, especially if these are magazines that some parents may want to give to their kids as examples of what they played when they were younger. I know it's advertising, but come on. We've done the advertising thing to death on this foru...

...It's a shame, Turrican, that you won't buy the magazine, purely on the basis of what it looks like, but there you go. Note, however, that the community aspect is one I know Retro Gamer feels strongly about, hence a few pieces are going to be introduced specifically to engage the readers in a fai...

...and from the brink of all out war the dove of retro peace comes flying overhead with a SID chip in it's mouth.... ;) Darran is right, but then this answer has been used throughout the previous pages, albeit in slightly different ways. Games are games, whether they be retro or not and some will wa...

I think what sometimes happens is that as time goes on and our current gaming formats get ever more powerful, the cut off point that some people are prepared to go back to follows with it and that some people that would have went back to the C64's and Spectrums may only want to head back to Atari ST...

There is no prejudice, you just fail to see that the human race have moved on with the times and gotten themselves games machines of the modern age. Back then you would have never thought about having arcade games stored in your PC or online gaming. Nobody minds downloading a game for free, why wou...

That's what i'm struggling to understand - during the 1980s and at least some of the 1990s, those games were written by people in the exactly same boat as those doing it now; Software Projects, Llamasoft, the Stampers, the early days of Sierra before they were even called that, probably close to 90...

i'd play both until i made a decision as to which i felt was the more playable. Even though they are the same game and bearing in mind that one of them IS the arcade original.. i'm not sure i follow the "knock on" logic really, but generally speaking the 16-bit machines are quite a bit more powerfu...
