Re: Secret Cinema BTTF

Looks like a fun evening, but watching the Blade Runner one their claims to 'recreate' the environments are somewhat exaggerated. Passable low budget stuff akin to the Halloween Horror nights at Universal Studios, easily knocked up sets that are a little shonky but give just enough atmosphere to be...

He also said in an interview that he would class the original Terminator as a sci-fi horror, and the sequel more of a "sci-fi thriller" movie. His words, not mine.

Re: Mortal Kombat X announced

It looks sick, yo! sadly Im kinda pants (putting it mildly) at these types of games, hence why my father disowned my when I was younger. Cant say I like the idea of using parts of scenery as weapons - ala Injustice, bt it looks cool in the video. like tux and megamixer, I rate MK9 highley, the story...

Re: Best version of Doom??

Hmm, very impressive in a technical sense, that. Someone must have put quite alot of effort into it. Would get on my nerves in seconds though. Particularly the bit with stuff obscuring the screen, and the "aim down the sights" mechanic or whatever it's called, ugh. Wasnt a feature of the FPS games ...

I honestly pity anybody that calls themselves a Doom fan if they have not played it

Re: Best 80's action film

Slightly off topic here, but what's the opinion of the other terminator movies? Myself?, went to see the one with the woman terminator in it at the cinema, and was hammered at the time! Decent enough I thought from what I remembered, and have seen it once since on the box - ok. The Christian Bale o...

Re: Best 80's action film

I think you could argue it both ways. T1 always looked a bit cheap, but that's largely because it was. There was only so much that could be achieved with the limited budget and available technology at the time, and it doesn't really look any worse now than it did then. T2, on the other hand, looked...

Re: Best 80's action film

A poll would be interesting but would be amazed if T2 was voted better than T1, I think this thread is the first time i have heard anyone suggest such a thing! At the time T2 as way better, years later that's not the case imo. T1 has stood the test of time much better for me. And Edward Furlong is ...

Re: 24 : Live Another Day and 24 in general

I'm watching The Dark Knight Rises and noticed the guy who plays President Heller in 24 also plays the President in TDKR, they should do a Batman/Jack Bauer crossover seeing as they appear to be in the same universe. I'm lobbying for Jack Bauer in Game of Thrones. Time travel element possible?

Re: Best 80's action film

Agreed, this is a tough list to pick just one. But I am going for, 'Big Trouble in Little China' If you want cheesy quotes, for me personally, you can't beat it... Wang Chi: You ready, Jack? Jack Burton: I was born ready. Jack Burton: Like I told my last wife, I says, "Honey, I never drive faster t...

Re: Best 80's action film

Terminator 2 is fantastic but the original isn't in the same league. From that list I'll go for Rambo: First Blood. The sequel was great as well! double  for me Terminator is by FAR a btter movie! T2 is too reliant on special effects (that look rubbish now) and with the Connors have two of t...

Re: Best 80's action film

Fantastic films in the list but for me it has to be Commando due to it being pure 80's action cheese. The end where Arnie is one man blowing up an entire army is just fantastic and the quotes... "You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last." Remember, Sully, when I p...
