Raspberry Pi gets an update.

I'm not sure how long this has been available, but the new version of Raspbian OS is out and it's pretty cool. It's based on Debian Linux 8 and it's a free download. I took the long way round and manually updated my source and repositories just so I could avoid formatting my sd card. But it's done n...

Re: indieGO! All-in-One Retro Game Console

The fundamental problem with all these projects is that they don't offer anything new. I can and do already emulate all the machines mentioned so far. Plus I have the option to play on original hardware too. From the sms right up to Dreamcast and everything in between like cps1 and 2, plus mame, I c...

Re: whats your jobbie?

I hate those kind.

I imagine a panel of judges, like x factor, would be handy to let you know when it's acceptible to stop wiping. You could show each wipe content in turn and they mark it out of 5. With 1 being good to go and 5 being keep wiping.

Re: whats your jobbie?

I've had different medication added to the doom-laden, bowel - hardening morning list and I've pooped more in the last three days than I have in the previous 3 weeks.

I'm sure the NHS is in cahoots with Andrex. It's our gps that are the real threat to the environment, forget the oil barons :(

Re: Ten years!

I remember the Retro Ball like it was yesterday. That's where I first heard of the impending relaunch of RG and first physically held the new Imagine mag. Ten years of this forum, but loads of retro time before that. Retro Survival, Retro Passion etc., great time and some really interesting characte...

Re: Your Recent 'Other' Purchases

Syma RC Helicopters.

A chance encounter with the S102G Blackhawk model in our local cheapo store, led to extensive internet research and a new collecting interest. These things are only £15 each and they're amazingly brilliant fun.

Re: indieGO! All-in-One Retro Game Console

It's an interesting project, and certainly one to keep an eye on. I have most of the component parts already: 2 x Rpi 2s, EmulationStation front end, etc, but I haven't been able to get PS1 games running at an acceptable speed. And Saturn games? Not a chance. I find myself wondering how on earth the...

Yes. I'm going to try to acquire an old CRT. Freecycle have loads, usually.

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting

Meh.

Sticking with scart. Sharper picture with albeit jaggy lines, but at least it's honest.

Re: That dreaded day finally came.

Nah, they had reason to go there. Family history and stuff. Either that or my GP just really likes me. He did show me a magic trick while he was there. He asked if I could feel his finger and when I said yes, he waved both his hands in the air and said (in his best Paul Daniels voice) "And that's ma...

Re the procedure: it's digit - based with waggling. That's what I remember.

Re: That dreaded day finally came.

Aye all was well in the end (pun intended).

It was my full body MOT I was in for, so I was poked and prodded all ways and blood extracted. It was rough but necessary I suppose.
