Re: Retro Gamer issue 181

Just received this in the mail and haven't had a chance to open it yet, but the cover is incredible! I would say this is one of my favorite ever covers of all time, well done who ever is responsible for that.

Re: Tracking lateness

Now subs Issue 181 has shown up in New Zealand - very pleased with it this month, I only got issue 180 2 weeks ago.

Re: Tracking lateness

Has anyone already received issue 180 in Germany? I'm still waiting. :( Just arrived in Munich and first thing I did was check the mailbox. I found anything in there but issue 180. It gets more and more irritating. Still I'm "glad" to hear a fellow countryman is experiencing the same drama. Keep up...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 180

Top notch issue from my perspective, Ken Williams interview was awesome, would've loved a couple of pages longer to get more in depth - maybe oneday we might get his lovely wife to do one - that would be as hard as getting the Stampers to interview though :) Loving the Chaos Engine article as well, ...

Re: Tracking lateness

Anyone down under received 180 subscription issue yet? Its been 6 weeks since 179 arrived for me and nothing so far - looks like 179 turning up on time was more luck than anything improving. Not yet. I'm hoping that it'll arrive sometime next week, since it's been available in newsagents for a whil...

Re: Local real collections

I'd be quite interested in a forum thread where people can post pictures of their collection, I always find it really interesting, and one a month isn't quite enough to cover it given the thousands of people who have retro collections

readership by forcing some
No-ones being forced to do anything, so no advantage is being taken. There are some collectors who like this kind of stuff - its just as valid to say the magazine owners are pandering to collectors than taking advantage of them.

Re: Retro Gamer issue 180

Looks awesome, one of my fave games from the 90s too. I'm hanging out for the Ken Williams In the Chair as well, given how rare it is he does this sort of thing, hopefully its extensive

Re: Tracking lateness

I'm of a similar mind - part of the reason I love the mag is the nostalgia and reminding me of gaming mags back in the 90s when I was a kid, which I used to collect. The best part is I can (and do) randomly grab an old issue several times a month and reread them, because the content is so good. I ha...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 179

Am enjoying this issue, some great articles in there - particularly Aladdin and 8-bit Sonic. The In the Chair with Gregg Mayles is the highlight of the mag for me, being a Rare fan from the 90s. It was a great read, and I loved how detailed (and lengthy) his answers were about everything, it gave a ...

Re: Tracking lateness

Surprisingly I got issue 179 on time (in New Zealand) last Friday, first time since I renewed my sub in December last year - and the first time since I went in to the new site and changed my address in the account area to have as few lines of detail in it as possible.

Re: Tracking lateness

If you let them know they will make it right. Never had an issue with a mistake. Thats not my experience - the two times I've tried to get replacements from them they said they had ran out of copies and would just extend my sub. Funnily enough they were still selling those issues off their site to ...

It's also a bit galling to be receiving emails about the wonderful latest issue when the previous still hasn't arrived yet.
When I renewed my subscription (which seemed to cause an abrupt end to getting any issues), those emails stopped so I don't have that problem at all anymore :D

Re: Tracking lateness

I don't mind the issues arriving one month later. To be honest for the duration of this month it will not become more retro or less retro  Thats not the problem though - its that by the time you know for sure whether you're getting it or not, its no longer for sale in retail shops, and the new...
