Re: The 360 Import Thread
The one thing I haven't made my mind up about SDOJ's graphics are the backgrounds: they just don't seem as good as DFK's. Otherwise I'd say I prefer it to DFK. The bosses are so cool! I guess as strange as undressing a loli on the ship select screen is I still find it less weird than DFK's stupid sc...

Re: What are you currently playing?
I too am hooked on Dragon's Dogma. Time to pimp my pawn: Sorcerer, about eight feet tall, level 30, well kept moustache, he's my butler and is called Jeeves. Kind of annoying that sorcerers can't cast healing magic but I'm hoping the offensive benefits will compensate for that as I get more vocation...

Re: Dragons Dogma - Dark arisen
This game is pretty rad. I love the environments: how you can get lost, discover new corners of areas you thought you'd combed completely and be rewarded with a chest for your efforts. At the moment I'm a pretty heavily armoured Mystic Knight. Low rank for now but I love splattering enemies with my ...

Re: Darius series
I am quite partial to a bit of G-Darius. It's not a game I've gotten into seriously but the music, graphics, bosses and goddamn massive lasers never fail to entertain me.

Re: The 360 Import Thread
Well I've had a day with Saidaioujou and I'm happy to report that it's pretty jolly good. I wasn't sold on the idea of 360 mode but having turned down the voices to an acceptable level I discovered a pretty decent mode. It's quite unique: instead of lives you have a counter in the top right corner o...

Re: What are you currently playing?
Started playing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen last night. Seems alright so far although I've only played the prologue bit and the first village, wandering around picking up loads of items and talking to NPC's. It's only the first location and already there are too many different items to keep track o...

Re: Dragons Dogma - Dark arisen
Finally started playing this, so far so good. It seems a bit more Skyrim/Dragon Age than Dark Souls but I'm still getting to grips with the skills I can use and pawns.

Re: The 360 Import Thread
Yeah it's pretty crazy that Moss, Qute, Triangle Service and Cave have or will have (mostly) new games out this year. Begs the question: what are G.Rev playing at? The only problem is I don't have the £200 you'd need to actually buy all of them. At least I can get SDOJ. In fact this might be a...

Re: The RGF Shmup League - Season #3 Game #2: taking nominat
ESPGaluda II would be an interesting choice to say the least - its scoring system feels damn near impenetrable. But it's also a lot of fun just to play for survival, which is most of my experience with it.
Of course it doesn't matter if not everyone can play it.

Re: New Guilty Gear announced
Back on topic: Those sprites are beautiful. Thank God somebody still does them unlike Capcom and that nasty 2.5D style they have going on these days. Um, I hate to break it to you but... Check the antics that occur about a minute into the trailer. The graphics are in fact 3D. But it's the tasteful ...

Re: Most consistently good
Granted, powerups aren't as prominent a feature as they used to be in some games, but that's usually in the interests of keeping the game's balance and difficulty curve. But I don't think saying the focus is just on dodging bullets is completely fair - it's an additional aspect that arises from resi...

Re: Most consistently good
My first thought was shmups too - but then again I'm always going on about them perhaps that's not particularly significant. It's clearly 2D Shmups. They've never changed. That was my first thought, then I remembered that bullet hell broke shmups so they're more bad than good these days. I'm curious...
