Re: Mortal kombat x

I bought this myself today on the PS4.... after going through ALOT OF FREAKING TROUBLE with PSN.... but so far, this one is very, very worth it. Yeah, it's got the day one DLC.... and I dunno what the price comes down to for you guys that are in the UK, but where I'm at it comes to a hideous $90 wit...

Re: If you could buy an arcade machine..

I keep considering getting another arcade machine, I keep not actually then going and doing so, because effort. Seriously, it'd be a pain in the ass. The ones I'd like though: http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/118/1181242123291.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XGYEeeW.jpg http://www.arcade-museum.com/images...

Re: The 'NX' is Nintendo's next-gen console

Also with regards to the 5200 - analogue sticks had been used on loads of systems before that. Vectrex, Interton VC4000 and Emerson Arcadia all had them first for a start. And I'll always say that too. However, Nintendo using one for the N64 is pretty much the cause of their inclusion on the contro...

Re: The 'NX' is Nintendo's next-gen console

As per standard protocol, I must now give my obligatory prediction about Nintendo's future console: Gimmicks. It really depends on the context if you ask me. Motion controls could be great in combination with VR and in games that scream for them (any first-person sword fighting game or rail shooter...

Re: The age old retro debate.

I always wonder why this matters. If you think it's old, it's old. If you dont, then it isnt. There ya go.

Far as I'm concerned, it's the time around the PS1, and before. For PCs, hmmm.... similar timeframe, I think. Though I usually think of Windows 95 or earlier, specifically. Usually DOS.

Re: nintendo developing games for smartphones

Ment it as in the bad side, like extra characters, levels session passes, they have recently gone back on that Isn't Mario Kart's DLC supposed to be pretty good? From what I've heard it certainly isn't the usual EA or Capcom m.o of blatantly taking bits from the full game and charging for them That...

Re: No more TxK

They are just protecting their I.P. as any big company does. Not the first time and won't be the last. Look at Nintendo who had the 2600 homebrew Princess Rescue removed from sale because of it's likeness to Super Mario Bros! Jeff has been fighting them for over a year it seems and has decided to g...

Re: Retro/Current Split.

Much of the time, it's more current stuff.... except that nearly all of it is stuff that nobody on this forum would have ever heard of (with the probable exception of Minecraft). So I aint exactly playing the latest AAA crap or something here. Not that this would surprise anyone. When it's not somet...

Re: EA Shuts Down SimCity Developer Maxis

Well that angers me more than most things... ugh. I wonder just what kind of dumb spin the corporate clowns on top will be putting on this to justify it as the hate from fans and such inevitably comes pouring their way? The damn jerks. I knew the end was near after Simcity happened, could just imagi...

Have you reached the "Veni, Vidi, Vici" room yet?
I remember that room. There was yelling involved. So much.

Though it's been a LONG time since I played that game, but still....

Re: 'In the zone'

Hm, I get this one alot with long win-streaks in fighting games, typically Guilty Gear / Blazblue / Persona. Against actual opponents, not the CPU, the AI in those particular games is dumber than a sack of hammers. Or certain shmup related things; beating the first stage of Mushihime-sama Futari's n...

Re: current gen and previous gen

In regards to Battlefield on consoles: I always wondered how people could enjoy playing first-person shooters with analog sticks. Sure, there were some fine console FPS games like GoldenEye, Halo, Timesplitters, ect., it still strikes me as trying to play a flight sim with a broken joystick. In gen...

Re: current gen and previous gen

You expect way too much. You want the wheel re-invented with each new console and it really doesn't work like that. If a console gen is a more powerful version of its predeccessor you are going to get the same games just prettier, bigger and better. Thats what I wanted from my new gen console and i...
