Re: Has trading died?

Sadly looks like it - with the drop in numbers I guess it was to be expected. That and places like Shpock to sell on / cex doing retro (badly).

Re: Your top 10 8-bit games that are still fun today.

Spectrum choices for me as that will always be my bias - I'm sure the other formats may have better versions / music etc but hey , its my choice. 1. Midnight Resistance. 2. Chase H.Q. 3. Chaos. 4. Micronaut 1. 5. Batty. (Arkanoid 2 is good but Batty is better) 6. Talisman. (Crash powertape game) 7. ...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

The Detectorists. Watched last of the series and felt a little sad its done. So I went back and started watching it all over again. Not only an adequate filler between halves of the Walking Dead but in many ways a lot more satisfying.

Re: Doctor Who Community Buzzing With Rumours

I can't confess to being a fan of Capaldi at first , but I think that was weak use of a good actor. I preferred the latter two series. As for the christmas episode , I actually thought it was sensitively and humorously done and actually made me regret the departure of Capaldi even more. Probably won...

Re: Charity Shops

Recently nabbed a DS Charger , GameCube power brick , GameCube car lighter lead and a Competition pro SNES pad along with a grandstand Colour Programmable console and 2 sticks for a great price. The grandstand will have to go as I don’t have the space for another console but it was worth what I paid...

Re: would anyone be up for a secret santa?

My main worry is that with a small pool of people , i'll be buying for me. I'm awkward at best and i'd probably just ebay what I bought me anyway.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Project X Zone - 3DS. Enjoying it at the moment - mainly for the little in jokes and references across the franchises and companies. Not sure it will last though as I can imagine the novelty wearing off quite quickly.

Re: would anyone be up for a secret santa?

Not sure the heart is really in it this year. Feels like some of that community has gone - sad really but some of the lost faces were quite pivotal. I hope that doesnt sound disrespectful to some of our newer members though - maybe we can drag this place back to what it was , or move it onwards to n...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Tin Star - Sure I saw somewhere that there is a second series considered for this. Don't. Actually quite enjoyed this , some silly slapstick humour and jokes interspersed with a twisty if predictable storyline. Could easily be left where it is though. Guardians ..vol 2 - missed it at the cinema and ...

Re: Games genres that you just don't like

Don't like FPS games with very few exceptions - Black on the PS2 was pretty good. Football / sports games on any console , yes even sensible soccer. I hate football so that would never be a winner and the yearly snorefest updates that result in floods of previous years games at 5p in game shops. Pif...

Re: 'random niceness' thread

Got a 2 disc jewel case PC game 'Earth 2050'. Think it was originally a Big box one as there is no barcode. Discs are clean enough with a few marks - not tested as I don't use my PC for games.

If no takers by the time ive come back from holiday - its off to the charity shop.

Re: Save our forum!

It would be a shame , Ive only been on for around 5 years but all these familiar faces lost , unnecessary bitching and sniping and stupid arguments over the last year have really ground it all down a bit. It will be a small secret santa this year! I'm sticking around because I'm hoping that we can a...
