Re: From the forum issue 103

If I had to pick one, then it would have to be Millipede - brilliant arcade conversion. I'd maybe go as far to say that it's better than the arcade. Lost many hours trying to get a mammoth score. Combat was another fave, and still holds plenty of fun for two players. Also enjoyed the likes of Frostb...

Re: Making of I-Ball 1 & 2- interest?

Another yes here :) ... Loved both games as a kid, still occasionally play both. Maybe Andrew Betts (Richard Hewison may know his whereabouts) and Rob Hubbard could contribute as well?

Re: From the forum issue 102

Joffa Smith for me - Although Cobra was brilliant (and far better than the crap C64 version), one of his best moments has to be with the conversion of Midnight Resistance from his Special FX days, which was one of the best arcade conversions on the Spectrum in my opinion.

Re: Hot Topic - Best Ocean Film Licence

Is it my memory playing tricks on me or was Total Recall completely axed and a different version commissioned? Yup! ... Not sure about the 16-bit versions, but the 8-bit home computer versions were originally outsourced to a company called "Active Minds" who completely messed things up. Here are de...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 100 + Issue 1

Congratulations on reaching the big 100! I've not had chance to properly sit down and read it yet, but i've had a quick scan and i've been really blown away by article contents. The big one has to be the Andrew Braybrook interview for me - someone I have really wanted to hear about after all these y...

Re: From the forum issue 101

To be different, Killer Gorilla! First BBC micro game I played at school and many fond memories. However there may be a "smidge" of rose-tinted nostalgia with my choice ;)

Re: Hot Topic - Best Ocean Film Licence

Voted Robocop, as one of my all time faves - but I always had a soft spot for the Total Recall conversion on the C64. Considering the 2-3 week build of the game after the original dev team let Ocean down, I thought it was a superb effort. The title music one of Jon Dunn's best too! Untouchables was ...

Re: Game Expo East Kent (GEEK) 2012 - Feb 15-19 - Margate

Had a fantastic 3 days - really hope this happens again next year. Great to catch up with everyone :) Unfortunately couldn't get to see Gary Bracey's movie night, but caught Bruce Everiss and David Darling's talk about Codemasters and Kwalee - which was very interesting (vids to go up on youtube sho...

Angel of Hell 2 game recovered Another quick update with the recovery of a great icon driven adventure game called Angel Of Death 2. This is a very advanced preview with some neat intros and graphics throughout. No English translation just yet! http://www.gtw64.co.uk/Shots/a/angelofhell7.png http:/...

Re: Games that weren't findings

Yeah, I thought at first that it all looked a bit "familiar" ;-) - the caterpillar character couldn't really go unnoticed :) Some developers often used to borrow sprites temporarily in the early stages of development - normally from the game which they were trying to achieve the same kind of theme, ...

Re: Games that weren't findings

A quick update with the recovery of an interesting Qix inspired game called Pen Palz, where you must draw a certain percentage of the screen whilst avoiding enemies. A cool early preview worth checking out! http://www.gtw64.co.uk/Shots/p/penpalz3.png http://www.gtw64.co.uk/Pages/p/Review_Penpalz

Re: Games that weren't findings

Thanks! ... Will do! :)

There is loads more to come, as i'm filtering through about C64 100 disks at the moment from an ex-developer - porting to PC via the 1541U2 ... bit slow going as all the disks need cleaning before reading :)
