Re: Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

ok I've put about 12 hours into this and i'm bored rigid by continuous insta-death, I've kept playing in the hope something fun will happen, it has not. I've not tried any open world games before, I've watched people play them and noted how they are not my cup of tea, Zelda does nothing to change my...

Re: Discuss Section - 166

jap sega Saturn. because of all the games. it delivered what the 16bit consoles couldn't - arcade perfect ports of awesome 2d games - no flicker, big sprites and lots of animation.

I’ll cradle the balls, stroke the shaft, work the pipe, and swallow the gravy. Get it over here, buddy. Let’s do this.

Re: First home game u played that was closest 2 arcade quali

I think pre-rendered works OK if: (a) there was a decent designer involved in the first place (b) the art design is consistent across all sprites and backgrounds (c) the lighting of the models isn't so directional that it's obvious when a sprite is drawn in the 'wrong place' compared to its neighbo...

Re: First home game u played that was closest 2 arcade quali

When I look at the Neo Geo, I just see a limited selection of SF2 clones and Metal Slug, but it never came across as astonishing or groundbreaking, especially at THAT price. Moderately impressive 2D sure, but I was still far more impressed technically by Donkey Kong Country...even with its mere 32 ...

Re: The ridiculously cheap price of used games

I don't understand people who are so against the used games market. Do you only buy brand new cars? And only move into a brand new house? When you move house do you demolish it to prevent it being sold on? After all the builder isn't being paid again for it exactly As Ian Dury said, the only new th...

Re: First home game u played that was closest 2 arcade quali

there were loads of quality arcade like games on 8 bit, I remember being blown away by enduro on the 2600 when I was a wee nipper and thought excite bike or mario on the nes looked identical to the arcade versions when I played them in Boots(the arcade graphics for these games were a bit creaky mind...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

would have taken a punt at launch if the console was £200. Nintendo hardware never really gets discounted by much either so I doubt i'll be picking one up in the next year or so either. so now we have all three players in console manufacture laying out what they are doing hardware wise for the next ...

Re: Sea Of Thieves

you can play the game solo, certain things just become easier and theres more fun to be had with teamwork. they've said that all along.

but yes, the noise from the studio puts more emphasis on the teamwork aspect.

Re: Sega Saturn Collecting

Saturn stuff has got a little more expensive since I started collecting, but over the last year all import stuff has gone stupid because the exchange rate is no longer in the pounds favour against the yen. couple of things that caught my eye over the last year: Saturn batsugun bought for £55 in 2015...

this film was better than episode 2, but worse than all the others. it was too serious. the force awakens was too silly mind.

also james earl jones sounded really old.

Re: SEGA 3D Classics series (3DS)

Got mine today and had a quick go on Powerdrift . Nice game but I will need more practice since I kept slamming into the walls/columns on the first circuit  . Also, is there any reason why the game automatically puts your car in 'high' gear on the start line?!? I kept forgetting and having re...
