Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm on a PS4 backlog clearance binge: I've just finished Yakuza 0 which is bat censored mental. It's a brawler. It's a mahjong simulator. It's a gambling game. It's a dating game. It's everything at all times. There are so many faces to this game you cannot pin it down. The story is so serious and t...

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre - Equinoxe Infinity - Out November 16th

I had no idea this was happening. Cheers for the heads up.

I've loved Jarre since I was about 12 and finally got to see him live in Birmingham about 5 or 6 years ago. One of the best gigs ever!

I quite liked both the sequels to Oxygene, they were an evolution to the sound of the original.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Halloween 1978-Still amazing. I must have watched this film over 30 times and it still holds up. Which leads us into... Halloween 2018- Better than I expected but not as good as it could have been. It totally retcons any of the sequels, including the good Halloween 2 and the great H20(and the censor...

Re: Which book(s) are you currently reading?

Last Shot-Han Solo novel. Set before and after the Solo movie. It was pretty good, listened to the audiobook over 3 days of a lot of driving! It had it's moments of good and bad but worth a read/listen. I've got the new Stephen King novel on order for the end of the month so looking forward to that,...

Re: RIP Ben Dalglish

It was such an up and down day yesterday, got my new shiny Zzap 64 annual and then I read this news. RIP my thoughts go out to his family and friends. Another childhood hero gone :( His music was amazing and I used to leave games running just to listen. I recorded a whole tape by placing a mic next ...

Interestingly, the PS4 version has been given a free PSVR update.

It allows you to play the games while sat in a 90s themed bedroom and viewing the games on a CRT TV. Kinda interesting.

And it's down to £19.85 at Argos...I'm going to have to buy this aren't I.

EDIT:£16.49!

Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

Ikaruga is hardly a fair comparison, being a port rather than a new game. The hardware is well emulated, so they don't need to do much to get it running on other hardware. That said, comparing a £50 cart release to a digital download doesn't really compare either. As a launch price, £25 isn't wildl...

Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

I hardly think it's expensive, I paid £50 for Tempest 2000 back in the day, adjusted for inflation that's over £100! I've paid more for far worse games over the years I can assure you! I think there is this stigma that because it's not a triple A release from a big publisher that it's somehow not w...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Resident Evil 5 on the 360. Currently on chapter 3 and it just seems to be a bit dull and laboured. Cannot quite put my finger on it but while it has been playable it hasn't quite been enjoyable. Are you playing it on your own or co-op? I tried it on my own and found it clunky, boring and I was con...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I bought Yokus Island Express this week. Man what a game. I played it at Eurogamer last year and was sold on it. For those that don't know it's a Metroidvania where you play as a dung beetle attached to a a ball of **** by string. You navigate the area by using pinball flippers. As you get around yo...

Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

I saw this was coming out and then I saw the price! I want to support Jeff as I've loved almost all his games but this price is far too high. I know it's Atari that probably set the price, but they seem to be out of touch with reality IMO. At £14.99 I'd have jumped in day one even if there is a dist...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Mario Tennis is glorious fun! Caveat there was a group of us playing winner stays on doubles last weekend. For about 5 hours solid. I also started Mario vs Rabbids this week. I'm having a lot of fun with it at the moment, I hear the difficulty ramps up but so far so good. It's such a great system! ...
