Re: The Migrant/Refugee Crisis...

There's one thing that doesn't add up to me in World War 2 the higher figure/death toll was over 80 million includes deaths from war-related disease and famine. Civilians killed totalled 50 to 55 million, including 19 to 28 million from war-related disease and famine... The Syria war a quarter of a...

Re: The Migrant/Refugee Crisis...

But it's the concerns in the media that get our attention ahead of the ones that go largely unseen. So I wonder do we only get motivated to aid people when it interupts our tv viewing bliss? The reason for what gets broadcast is simple - what sells. Hence whether it is reported or not and the promi...

Re: The Migrant/Refugee Crisis...

What do you guys think of Charlotte Church's comments on Question Time about the link between climate change and the Syrian conflict... It seems fairly sensible. I didn't watch it, so it depends on how she presented it - as a partial cause/catalyst to the conflict by exacerbating the pre-existing d...

Re: The Migrant/Refugee Crisis...

To me if 'Assad' is such a cruel dictator who kills his own people surely everyone would be conscripted... Anybody refusinhippers by many Muslims—including the advancing militants overrunning Iraq—the Yazidis have faced the possibility of genocide many times over.g to fight or trying to leave Syria...

Re: So I am a dad (again)

Thanks all, sadly Mrs Rocky and micro Rocky willl not be home today. Mrs Rocky needs another two units of blood and micro Rocky needs more time on the blue lamp :( Ours was under that for nearly two weeks after birth, absolutely horrid time. Jaundice is commonplace though and vast majority of the t...

Re: Lets talk about vinyl

Is that a IKEA unit? Looks like mine but I only keep my laser discs along the bottom so the unit does not collapse. Seen lots of horror story's of them collapsing due to the weight of vinyl. What does everyone else use for storage? Ikea units here too. I've got two of them (4x4). Only one is fully ...

Re: Lets talk about vinyl

I've got a pretty big collection, about 4000 12" and 7". I even have a room dedicated to it, what else are you going to do with a 6' square box room! Its bliss sitting down in there after work for 1/2 an hour now and again with my son crawling round (occasionally getting told off for trying to pull ...

Re: So I am a dad (again)

Congrats! Had similar experience with mine, sitting in a waiting room on my own for 20 mins with deal or no deal on before going into theatre was one of the most anxious times of my life. Puts you off going for another!

To me if 'Assad' is such a cruel dictator who kills his own people surely everyone would be conscripted... Anybody refusing to fight or trying to leave Syria would either be shot as deserters(like the British did in world war 2) or prevented from leaving the country such as in Countries like Burma ...

Re: Command & Conquer

However this thread has rekindled my inerests and I still have the discs. I wonder if they will work with Windows 10......... Mine say...

Re: Shooting of two journalists live on air

You don't have to look very far to find that much of the the evil dirge being performed around the world has been broadcast on the net on the net these days. What does that mean? What does that say about us as a species? The looking for it or the broadcasting of it? "Oh dearism" is an interesting c...

Re: Shooting of two journalists live on air

Glad they caught the guy, sad he killed himself as i would have preferred him to rot in jail for 50 years. Put it in a bit of a different light that the killer said it was down to bullying because of race and sexuality. As the killer said that then no doubt its the truth then ?! The case was thrown...

Re: Shooting of two journalists live on air

Didn't say it was fine, said it put it in a bit of a different light to the initial reaction in that there was a reason for grievance caused by someone (either the people killed or others at the company they worked for, I don't know which). Racism and homophobia do not warrant murder, but it would m...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Finished Pokemon Heart Gold. Well almost - put it down when I saw Red's were around lvl 90. Probably could do him with the masses of revives, sacred ashes etc I had collected but that feels like cheating, plus I'd need to go back and change my party given 2 of them were low level 'utility' pokemon a...
