Re: What grinds your gears ?

Re: Fallout 4

I've absolutely hammered this game, bought it on release and pretty much been the only game I've played except for a bit of Pokemon when I was away at Xmas. I'm level 100 now, been playing on survival mode, finding it pretty easy tbh, don't get people saying it was harder than other Bethesda games. ...

Re: Lets talk about vinyl

IS the Record Store Day stuff mostly just collectors stuff? A lot (at a very quick glance) seems to be just silly money for something to look at, is there actually much new music released for it? Tons of versions of the same record with tiny variations like record colour would drive me nuts if I did...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

The defeat of the sunday trading laws changes. What a load of piffle the 'keep sunday special' nonsense is - I'll decide when I want to take a rest, not Labour/some old irrelevant superstitious book. With regards to it keeping families together, it does the opposite for us - the only time me and my ...

Re: Favourite RTS game/series?

There's no Total War option. This poll is invalid. Considered it, but I have only ever played one at a friends so dropped it in favor of AoE. I'm a bit more a fan of arcadey or economic than tactical strategy games. Good to see KKND mentioned, I remember enjoying those two back in the day. Other le...

Favourite RTS game/series?

So what are your favorite RTS games? I know the options don't cover all bases, but there are only so many you can enter, just say if there is another you prefer. For me it is a very close call between Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander and Command & Conquer. Spent an inordinate amount of time with...

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online

Given I've never played an MMO before can this game be played singleplayer, ie just being able to play without interacting with people and not having to group up with people to do quests etc. Aside from just being a grumpy bugger, I spend all day with people, so prefer my slim gaming time to get awa...

Best PC game download service

I upgraded my pc a few months ago with a decent graphics card, an R9 280. However nothing recent has really excited enough to make me use it, but having watched a few mods of GTA V I think its time to go back to it after a couple of years. Having not played any recent PC games for some years I've no...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Jurassic World, such a shame as I thought it must have been pretty decent given how popular it was at the cinema. It was pretty awful, you could tell it was a script hackneyed to death by a panel of writers. The acting was universally awful too, not a decent name in there either which seemed odd giv...

Re: Looking back at the Original Xbox

Had an Xbox in my mid to late teens, after a Dreamcast and it seemed a natural evolution. Had it in my room too, so spent many a saturday morning lie-in playing Halo, GTA, KOTOR 1/2 and Jade Empire. For some reason I seem to remember only playing Morrowind late at night. The whole Xbox experience, f...

Re: Your favourite ever moment in a game

The first time I emerged from the opening dungeon of Elder Scrolls Oblivion into bright sunshine and rolling hills and realised I could go anywhere and do almost anything. I was going to mention shortly after leaving that dungeon, walking along a road and seeing some deer run across the road, pursu...

The amount of time I've wasted over the years just messing about on it is criminal.

Re: Machines you dislike, that you actually own.

And the pad is bulky, with the wire coming off the bottom which is just wrong. And the console always asks for the date when I turn it on... possibly because I don't play it often... I think I need some good games to really win me over. As much as I grew up on and love the DC, the controller is ind...

Original X Box horrible pad thats too large for my hands terrible emulation and hardly any good exclusives only Spike Out and Panzer Dragon Orta.. All its games where either multi format releases or had better releases in HD on the later Microsoft consoles.. I sold mine for £10 to a friend I was so...

Re: Lets talk about vinyl

It is an Ikea unit, but it's bolted to the wall so it ain't going anywhere! As for cleaning....I use a liquid cleaner that I get from eBay with a micro-fibre cloth, that's it. I've used cleaning machines before but the fluid I found does the job. I've got through gallons of the stuff... I recommend...
