Re: Paris under attack

I've got to ask how many Muslim countries you've been to, as I'd have said Saudi Arabia was one of the least Westernised. I've not actually been there myself, and with good reason as it's one of a mere six left with a theocratic government that has sharia as the law of the land, and that's somethin...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

Weather like this...it's just pouring down me like a waterfall whenever I'm shifting stock about at work or out on the vans making big drop-offs. I do genuinely prefer the cold because it's easier to warm up than it is to cool down. Isn't there some talk in Westminster about laws potentially being ...

Re: EU in or out? Today's THE day

IMF now predicting growth for us next year, stock market continues to recover, FTSE 250 back to pre brexit levels.  where have the fascist left gone, back under their rocks or are they still out assaulting people in London parks? I'm not sure you should take the recent IMF predictions as...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

I've become a bit addicted to morning telly on a weekend on Quest - Total Fishing with Matt Hayes, How it's Made, Supermodels. You don't seem to get programs about 'specialist' subjects like these made now a days, unless they've been 'sexed' up. Whereas before it was just hobbyists talking about DIY...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

My gripe this evening is windows media player and the way windows handles large amounts of files. I had a huge windows folder size, over 90gb, so spent a bit of time this evening finding out where the files were - turns out it was where wmp has its art cache for songs. There were over a million fil...

Re: Favourite Sega Controller

JP Saturn pad, for the sole reason all the others never felt right. To me all Sega pads I've tried have always felt a bit cheap and flimsy, but the jp Saturn one was comfortable at least.

Re: What type of PC Upgrader are you?

A PC gamer has to be knowledgeable about tech unless he's happy spending hundreds on a machine he knows nothing about and takes pot luck whenever he buys a game. Such ignorance is a luxury that belongs to console gamers. Not sure where you get that from to be honest, building a PC and running games...

Re: school reunions

Am I the only one to have enjoyed school here! There was a bit of bullying and the usual but the good far outweighed the bad, sure beat working for a living anyway. Probably down to having a hilarious group of mates that gave as good as we got, a lot of Inbetweeners style moments. Would go to a scho...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

People complaining about channel 5 showing Watership down Anybody that has seen it will know its not really a kids film anyway SO WHY LET YOUR KIDS WATCH IT!! [/size] I always loved it as a kid, probably because it was a bit of a emotional roller coaster, its more rewarding. I think films etc like ...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Storyville: Exposed: Magicians, Psychics and Frauds . Interesting documentary about the life of James Randi, a good mix of his personal life and his debunking exploits, was a good watch. That was fascinating, particularly after all his exposing and debunking of others, the secrets he himself had ke...

Re: Games you have loose that you need boxes and manuals for

Wouldn't mind the big box with front flap for Total Annihilation: Core Contingency, my one went moldy in the garage years ago. Funnily enough just had a look on ebay and it is about the same price as it was when I bought it new all those years ago.

Re: Fallout 4

Dunno how you have got to level 100, I can just about scrape to level 57 and I've done everything and I mean EVERYTHING - there is not a single quest left in my list other than Preston and his stupid farm defending. I'm level 112 now. I have played it an awful lot but it is pretty easy to farm xp -...

Re: Lets talk about vinyl

Thats a shame, seems a bit more of a lazy way to make money rather than releasing something special and unique for vinyl lovers. Whatever floats peoples boats I guess, and it does help support shops which can only be a good thing. I do like box sets though, but only if I really like the artist and t...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

I take you didn't read the Manchester evening news story which was the first account? The staff member was acting in response to customer complaints, its catch 22 for retail staff. Then of course her version says how her best friend who was with her is a solicitor and how her wedding list was from ...

Re: Today

Which would be great if there was a valid reason for carrying a gun. Unless you're part of the armed forces or PD, there's really no reason for a civilian to need one. Pest control is one perfectly valid reason to own a gun, where I grew up in the sticks rabbit/pigeon/rats had to be controlled as n...
