Re: Videogame Hardware Guide 2014 edition - Q for Darran

Yep, I used to have it. Cannot for the life of me remember what systems it covered though. Here we go from volume 2... In the order they were in the contents... Consoles Mega Drive Playstation Colecovision Atari 5200 Amiga CD32 Neo Geo AES Amstrad GX4000 Famicom DIsk System Atari 7800 32X Computers...

Re: Videogame Hardware Guide 2014 edition - Q for Darran

I brought the revision and was disappointed. There isn't enough new content to deem it value for money plus other content has been removed such as the wonderswan feature. I won't be duped into purchasing another. I wish they'd have released a volume 2 featuring other machines instead but I guess th...

Re: Anybody remember the Future Entertainment Shows?

Sorry to bump up this thread from 5 years ago, Future did a World of Commodore Event at Earls Court in 1991 and then from the success of this, the Future Entertainment Show was born also at Earls Court, I went to one in 1992 and 1993, not sure how long they went on for but the 1993 one, if you order...

Re: 10 years of Retro Gamer

It's even more impressive when I've apparently ruined the magazine :p I must admit, its only been recently that despite owning every magazine that I've only noticed that the Back To The Nineties feature has been going in month order. I must admit saying to myself... "not another month from the same...

10 years of Retro Gamer

I know at the moment "we" are enjoying a nice warm spell of weather at the moment but at the start of next year, Retro Gamer will be 10 years old. I thought I would mention it now as I know any lovingly made feature takes its time to make it from head to print. But who would think it, the first mile...

Re: Budget games

Dizzy? Super Robin Hood? Rockstar Ate My Hamster... Rockstar Ate My Hamster was originally full price on the Codemasters label. This was probably one of a very small list of games that was full price during their budget era. Another being Professional BMX Simulator which was re-released for budget ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 104

Worth noting within the good Kick Off feature that Kick Off 96 for the Amiga only scored just 1% in the final Amiga Power by the same reasons given in the article. It was too buggy! As for the front cover, me no likey unfortuately. I do prefer the alternative Pong cover in the letters section. Pong ...

Re: Retro Bookazine no.6

Is it me or is the bookazine a little thinner in pages than previous editions. I thought they were normally 256 pages. I'm not complaining as budgets have to met etc.

Great read as always and another one to add to the collection :D

Re: ZX Spectrum/Commodore 64 book

Saw a couple of copies of it the other day in Exeter's whsmiths, unfortunately they were so dog-eared and mangled i'd be surprised *anyone* would pick them up and buy them. Should have been 1/2 price or something, at least. There are 2 heavily damaged ZX Spectrum/Commodore books left in my local WH...

Amstrad Tape to emulator

Hi Just looking for some help/advice. As a child of the 80s, I locked myself in my bedroom (ahem!) doing some shoddily games on the Amstrad CPC 464 in BASIC. They weren't great but recently I found the tape I had put them onto. Question is, how to get the transition from the cassette to an Amstrad e...

Re: New Retro Gamer bookazine - 30th anniversary special

To help with the sales, I've turned all the covers over to the Commodore 64 so its front facing in WH Smith :D

Just to add I bought it yesterday and one of the ladies at work who has just turned 20 asked where do you put the CD's into the C64 and asked where the monitor was! Kids today eh!

Re: Gamesmaster Article?

Computer and Video Games (C+VG) must have lasted around 20 years in print too before Future bought it and decided that one multi format games mag under their ownership was enough and put the brand online.
