Re: Looking to build a database of retro game stores
Is joypad in chorlton close enough? Unfortunately no, since we don't really visit Chorlton for anything. Thanks for answering though! I could look it up. We had two in Stockport once upon a time, but they were both closed (one very recently), which sucks since they could get you a game early if you...

When I first went on the bus with friends the fare was 70/80p in 2005.rocky1980 wrote:When £5 was a LOT of money !! Damm I am getting old
Now it's something like £1.60!!!!
Is it me or are Bus fares extortionately expensive?

Re: PLAY EXPO (formerly Replay), 12-13 October 2013, Manches
Hell yeah I'm going!
I loved the Shop there in addition to all of the Retro get ups!
I'm not a fan of EA/Acti and the like though, but my brother loved it.
Thinking of dressing up this year. Although a suit I have my eye on doesn't specify sizes...and in Hong Kong, their XL could be our medium!

Re: If you could revive one tv show/cartoon from your childh
Crystal Maze would be ruined by people who actually think for a change...unless you put in Chavs. I didn't really enjoy that many cartoons as a kid...but as for TV Shows.... I guess I liked waking up to RISE on Channel 4 in my Teenaged years...it's not that far back but I did used to love watching i...

Is there any Retro/Import/Independant Game Shops in or around the area of Stockport or Tameside?
I only know of one in Hyde but it doesn't do anything which GAME or CEX couldn't do...and the trade ins are awfully priced.

Re: Nintendo (& other) gaming surveys
So I had an email from Nintendo last night wanting me to take a survey, focused around the WiiU & Pikmin 3. I get these types of surveys every so often & I mostly take part in them as they only take a few minutes. I was quite interested in this one as I don't own a WiiU & wanted to see what questio...

Re: 5 Sega games you'd like to see digitally re-released
Maybe im over simplifying and proving myself a dunce of the first class but even without source code is there no way someone could just deconstruct the game from a standard release disc. Surely there must be some debug saturns or something out there to help rescue some of these games. Panzer Dragoo...

Re: Did anyone find Pikmin 1 hard?
First time round I just managed it on the 29th day, mainly through excessive 'breeding days' to replace silly losses. Over the years though I've got it down to half that, it really does reward multiple plays, especially with it being short. The second one though I found much harder. When I first pl...

Re: Losing touch with modern gaming - anyone in this boat?
Up to a point, yeah....although I bought Pikmin 3 and enjoying that! I think it's more the direction than anything...I've grew up with Japanese Developers and Publishers (to me, they were kings of innovation, but now they're losing that uniqueness), but now it's swinging back to the West and I am no...

Re: What hardware doesn't get enough love?
For me, I haven't really seen much Game Boy Coverage (I joined in the 90th Issue though).
Hardware wise that is niche...I'd say possibly the Neo Geo Pocket and Wonderswan.
Not many of us know of the latter's library all that much.

Walking home today I was passing some phone boxes, and it made me think about things from the past that are either no longer around or are less common. The public phone box Take my first thought, the humble BT phone box. I remember a time when there were loads of telephone boxes everywhere. In my l...
