Re: The Game Gadget

The £2.99 pricing change is a bonus.. and was something that had to be done tbh. It's a positive move that the pricing has come done, however, £2.99 is still too much for what are (at the end of the day) just roms of old games! To me, the original mooted price point of £1.99 per game should have be...

Re: Retro Gamer Collection: reprints for latecomers ?

Would it not be possible for Imagine Publishing to operate a system that allows folks to register an interest (and commit to a future purchase) for magazine/bookazine reprints? Basically, the system would work like this. People would register their interest in 'back issue x' and commit themselves to...

Re: Subscriptions Queries

Quick question.

When your subs are close to expiring do you get an email reminder to renew, or is up to you to remember/work out when to renew?

(... I think I've only got 1 month paid subs left :( )

Re: The Pixel Nation is Formed

Still got to order mine, from what I've seen it looks pretty slick. :) My ludite (retro loving) nature is complicating things a tad though as the pixel nation website just doesn't work correctly on my computer (sigh). Win 98... still love it. ;) Have you considered simultaneously selling on Ebay? (h...

Re: The Game Gadget

Expecting 'Joe Public' to fork out £4.99 price per game is just not realistic IMHO. Quite simply, the revised price point per game being bandied around will simply kill this console stone dead. It won't work! No doubt if/when the GameGadget falls flat the lesson will be learned. However, by then I'm...

Re: Subscriptions Queries

Big surprise to see issue 101 hit the doormat this morning... wasn't expecting it at all. :) Anyway after last month, I just thought I'd post followup regarding the item condition. I'm happy to report that this was possibly the best condition subscriber copy I've ever received (last month being the ...

Re: Atari ST Emulator Help

As the Atari ST is my favourite system of all time I've used all the emulators kicking around at some point. For Atari ST emulation on the PC, STeem is still the best emulator out there.. especially for games. To date, it is still the only ST emulator to implement the PASTI library extension which a...

Re: Subscriptions Queries

I also received my subscriber copy today, it seemed about the normal timescale for receiving an issue to me. :) No problems there then... however the Royal Mail ensured it arrived in poor condition again (this is actually the worst condition subscriber issue I've received - and I've had a few gnarly...

Re: New Retro Gamer bookazine - 30th anniversary special

These do seem to get mashed up pretty quickly instore at WHSmith. I was in my local 2 days after it was released and there was only 2 copies left... one of which was in atrocious condition (dog-ears, rips, greasy fingerprints etc). I wouldn't say the other copy on the shelf was mint (there were a fe...

Re: From the forum issue 101

Aqua Attack. There cannot be many better games for the BBC Micro than this insanely addictive 'Centipede' clone. :) Thinking back, I recall there was a few BBC Micros kicking around my old Primary School in the mid 80s. Finish your schoolwork early in class and you got to kill your spare time in fr...

imagineshop problem

Is it just me, or is there something wrong with the imagineshop? The pages don't appear to be displaying correctly (missing graphics, missing buy buttons etc). Admittedly I use an ancient version of Firefox, but it was working until a few days ago. Now it's practically impossible to use. I guess I b...

Re: Issue 94 Feedback Thread

First subscribed issue (I'm a long time WHSmith reader ;) ) and it's pretty darn good. The Slightly Magic lookback caught my eye immediately. Facinating insight into how things were then. :)

I'm just a bit gutted that the magazine came with a rip in the back cover and last 12+ pages. :(
