Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

I've always preferred Golden Axe Warrior to Zelda 1, so meh. Yes I know GAW is a clone of Zelda, but I like it far more anyway.

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

Whilst Nintendo is in the right, their reasons for going about it are not. Their just going for the sites, so that people have no choice but to use their services to get these games. The majority of which never get released. So if it's not released again, then it's gone forever. Forgotten (except in...

Re: The first games you completed.

Hmm. Would definitely be something on the Atari 2600 as that was my first console. Issue there being that nearly all the games on it were endless. First game that springs to mind is Double Dragon on that. It looked NOTHING like the arcade game, and certainly didn't play like it either. Took me quite...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing Homeworld - Deserts of Kharak . This game is great for someone like me whose favorite RTS series's of all time is Command and Conquer, Warcraft and Dawn of War (not counting the 3rd game). So if you ever wanted a C&C game to have you keep your units from mission to mission with the...

Re: Home Brew Section

Can't I be both? :) The game was made for fun as via uni I learned how to make games and have been doing my own projects ever since. Though only a project now and then. I've done remakes of Space Invaders (Arcade), Fishing Derby (Atari 2600) and Dragon's Lair (NES). Those were purely free projects t...

Re: Home Brew Section

Which is fair about the graphics. It started out Gameboy inspired, then as development went on more colors were needed. So in the end its a bit different.

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

Oh definitely. All I'm saying is that I'd love to see the magazine do an article on the PC as a whole. From how it started out to where things are now. Be quite fascinating. When you look back the PC for the 80s was ignored by many in favor of the Amiga and other computer variants. Then along came t...

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

Fair enough.

RG needs to do a PC article at some point. Covering PC from it's very beginnings up to present day. I don't recall reading an article on it so far. Would make for great reading, as the PC has just as much to do with retro (DOS and early Windows days) to the present.

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

One thing I'd ask is why the PC is never included in such polls? Its just as valid as the others.

Re: Franchises and games you are surprised haven't returned

I remember distinctly hating EA during the 90s. They destroyed many of the best companies out there, during that decade. To quote a description of them from a RG article (RG 139) description of them that I just finished reading - "They were like the borg. If they bought your company, then your compa...

Re: Franchises and games you are surprised haven't returned

C&C / Warcraft style RTS games. I love my RPGs and sandbox / open world games as much as the next person, but what the hell happened to RTS games. Used to be so many. Now we never get any. This needs to change. C&C 3 was the last good one that I can think of. Red Alert 3 was meh and we do not speak ...

Re: If You Had To Choose - Consoles or Computers?

Computers no contest. On PC you have emulators so can play all the games from the other systems (once emulation for said system is good enough). In a way its like someone telling you that you have 3 wishes and you wish for a thousand more wishes. Emulation opens up the PC to almost endless possibili...
