Re: Minor or lesser known Arcade Coin-Ops you really liked

I remember really loving the Castlevania arcade game that was under a different name. Never actually played it myself at the arcade, and only saw it once. But it looked really impressive. Got to play it in Mame32 decades later, and I completely suck at it. Which is odd as I'm really good at the rest...

Re: Retro Game Repair?

Those $20 NES consoles are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy underpriced. Buy those, repair em up and sell em for $100. That's what I'd do, if I were any good at repairing systems.

Damn fascinating stuff. "The 8-Bit Guy" on youtube does MANY videos on old computer repair. Love watching those.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing Assassin's Creed Origins. For a game with "Assassin's Creed" in it's title, I've yet to see a single Assassin in it. Beyond that it's an excellent game that makes some fairly major changes to gameplay. Far more RPG than prior games. Exploration based side activities are really damn...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I do a fair bit of buying and selling of retro games as a means of helping with the finances. If I was to post what I was buying and selling each week, you'd be seeing a heap of snes, megadrive, n64, ps2 and xbox games.

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

I did a remake of the NES game a few years ago. Improves the gameplay a bit, though art's not my strong point. So the animations are half half. Made for a great coding project to do though.

You can find screenshots of that remake in the homebrew thread.

Re: Home Brew Section

Oh man. That's the first game I ever did a remake of, to improve my coding skills. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/030f/cf593n0jbly957nzg.jpg?size_id=6 Did that one back in 2010. Never released officially obviously. Shortly followed by a remake of Fishing Derby on the Atari 2600: http://www.mediafi...

Re: How Far Behind in the Magazine Issues Are You?

So I've been an avid reader of Retro Gamer Magazine since the beginning. My problem? Finding time to read it. There's just so many good articles per magazine generally, though I tend to skip the Spectrum articles since we never had that over here in Australia + I feel that the magazine has a odd lo...

Re: Important subscription information

I have to say that the new subscription page is horrible. You log in and see nothing. It says you can manage your subscriptions, change your details etc. But nope, none of that is there. Just: Here you can manage aspects of your subscription online. Check when your next issue is due to arrive, edit ...

Subscription Checking

Just wondering how we check on our current subscriptions to the magazine? I've tried going to:

https://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/youraccount/

And then login. But I don't see any details on current subscription status etc etc.

Re: Home Brew Section

To me their one and the same, whether your selling them or not. You made them yourself without any others being involved, so that's both to me. That said, the meaning of indie to me is indie developer, which can often = 1+ team members. Where as homebrew would be 1 only I'd assume? So under that def...
