Re: Franchises and games you are surprised haven't returned

I remember distinctly hating EA during the 90s. They destroyed many of the best companies out there, during that decade. To quote a description of them from a RG article (RG 139) description of them that I just finished reading - "They were like the borg. If they bought your company, then your compa...

Re: Franchises and games you are surprised haven't returned

C&C / Warcraft style RTS games. I love my RPGs and sandbox / open world games as much as the next person, but what the hell happened to RTS games. Used to be so many. Now we never get any. This needs to change. C&C 3 was the last good one that I can think of. Red Alert 3 was meh and we do not speak ...

Re: If You Had To Choose - Consoles or Computers?

Computers no contest. On PC you have emulators so can play all the games from the other systems (once emulation for said system is good enough). In a way its like someone telling you that you have 3 wishes and you wish for a thousand more wishes. Emulation opens up the PC to almost endless possibili...

Re: What games would you like to see remastered?

Some I'd love to see: The Last Ninja - C64. This is the killer app for the C64. I'd love to see this updated to snes level gfx. Keep the awesome SID music. All 3 of the 16 bit Shadowrun games - Shadowrun on the snes is one of my favorite games of all time. The Megadrive game is not bad either. The 3...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Arcana on the super nintendo. I've had numerous play attempts of this game since first hiring it from a video store in the 90s. The game is a first person dungeon crawler, very similar to games like Phantasy Star 1 and Shin Megami Tensei (the snes entries). Game is very average. Nothing special abou...

System Shock 2 - Training Mission Contest

This is a call out to all level makers, whether it be System Shock 2, Thief or other games, for the System Shock 2 Training Mission Contest. If you've made maps in the past or wanted to but lacked the motivation, well this might just be it. The contest is to create one of the training missions descr...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Powermonger (snes). Spent months chipping away at it, only to get a 2 second "I won!!" style ending and sent back to the menu screen. How 80s :(.

Bipolar Game

Hey all As my first post on the forums here I would firstly just like to say how much I LOVE Retro Gamer magazine. I've been collecting the magazine since issue 8 of the Live Publishing days. The magazine is easily my favorite magazine of all time and unlike other magazines I tend to read nearly all...
