Re: Fighting Fantasy

Well I wasn't talking about that aspect. Just about gamebooks in general. I never see them in stores at all anymore.

Re: Quick Reference Guide to Retro Metroidvania/Platform Adventure Games

I'd not really count System Shock as a Metroidvania. It's an immersive sim.

Re: Fighting Fantasy

I still don't get how gamebooks ever became unpopular as you never see them in book stores anymore. The FF books I occasionally find in second hand / Op shops.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Are the Ages games only available via digital distribution? I've never seen any of them in stores, nor on Ebay. Phantasy Star be one I'd want to get.

Re: Fighting Fantasy

One of the Lone Wolf books (I forget which one) had a similar enemy, which even with max stats and the best gear (Sommerswerd weapon) almost always ended in player death, unless you got really damn lucky with your dice rolls or you cheated. That is a once off though. Back on subject though, my favor...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing through the 13th Doll, which launched a few weeks ago, and had been in development for quite some time, after being successfully funded on KS. Overall I'm REALLY enjoying it. A few nights ago I finished playing through as "Tad", and have started a second play through as the charact...

Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

Two games for me: GTA 4 - Yes the game looked good, and yes action was great and yes the strip clubs were great. But all the really good stuff from Vice City and San Andreas were removed entirely. Purchase-able businesses / locations - Gone. RPG elements - Gone. Territory control - Gone. GTA 5 fixed...

Re: Amusement Arcades, where are they?

All the "arcades" over here in Australia have turned into amusement centres filled with basketball games and air hockey. Take me back to the 90s.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Oh yeah I know. News of that has not gone down very well on other forums I frequent (eg systemshock.org, TTLG etc etc). Many don't see the need for it, as with NewDark + mods the games great as is. The only area that could use improvement is the multiplayer, which is where Night Dive have said their...

Currently replaying System Shock 2 in honor of it celebrating it's 20 year anniversary. Fantastic game.
I remember my brother coming home with a copy of that when it was new....
Game is fantastic even today. Had a blast through it again.

I've since moved onto AC - Odyssey.
