there is a good NES emulator, one which allows you to rewind the gameplay with the press of the left trigger - its utterly brilliant!

there are quite a few, and they work really well*

* well enough to get away with on a DS.

It is a shame that the screen res is just not quite enough to fit snes/ megadrive games on, but it certainly is great when on the move.

The neo geo one is fantastic also
