Re: Console Wars Memories

Being satisfied that the C64 was better than both Master System and NES, and that the Amiga was better than both Megadrive and SNES

Re: Which system had the best sound?

Voted for Paula , since I expected the SID to win anyway  the SID was way ahead of everything else at its time, and best of a lot that came after. I just got the second book of the Commodore 64 Visual Commpendium and it's telling how every page of the book, every developer or person that ha...

Re: Educate me on buying an Amiga

An A1200 (AGA), with a ram expansion (at least 4mb) and an internal hard disk (a CF card instead of a 2,5" drive is better) is the perfect setup for me. You load the games via Whdload, (almost) zero loading times, full compatibility.
The only downside is that it's a setup that costs around 350€.

Re: Best/worst franchise deviations

Front Mission Evolved managed to switch from an excellent tactical RPG saga to a terrible Mechwarrior clone.

The first that comes to mind is that frakking helicopter in the first Syphon Filter game. How I hate that thing... :x

Re: From The Forum issue 158 - Your favourite handheld

My first love: the GP2X. Being a retro gamer having the chance, in 2006, to run all of those console and arcade emulators and to play Out Run on the train, was a blast.

Re: Five 8-bit Games You'd Still Play Today

On the C64 the games I find myself playing more often are:

- Power Drift
- Outrun Europa
- Emlyn Hughes International Soccer
- Ghostbusters
- Samurai Warrior

Re: Which was really better - 64 or ZX?

Not a close contest in any way, C64 all the way. Better is some aspects, way better in others :) And I have a sort of veneration for the SID chip and its amazing sound, love to listen to SID music to this day. Tel, Maniacs of Noise or Hubbard and Beats headphones, it doesn't get much better than tha...

Re: EURO 2016- the one we're all hoping Brits stay in

Wales were a nice surprise indeed. Tonight they suffered Ramsay's absence and Bale's bad evening, but they did very well in this tournament. Portugal dodged a few bullets already (they were very close to elimination in the first phase, and then with Croatia), lady luck seem to be on their side but t...

Re: EURO 2016- the one we're all hoping Brits stay in

Excellent Wales, really. I liked how they immediately hit back after Belgium scored, and how they kept attacking after the 1-1, demolishing the Belgians' confidence. Great goals, but also the defenders (Williams, Taylor) have been a nice surprise to me so far. So, Italy-Germany tonight, unluckily mo...

Congrats to Wales! :) Really, really well played. And Portugal in the semifinal is definitely beatable, even if Ramsay will be out.

Re: EURO 2016- the one we're all hoping Brits stay in

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I admit I hadn't enjoyed and "felt" a match of our national team like this one for a while :) I liked them, their approach, a team with no primadonnas but great focus and teamwork. From the anthems you could tell they were out for revenge and in the end, revenge it was. Great...

Re: EURO 2016- the one we're all hoping Brits stay in

Germany remain the favourites for the victory, they've also found their striker (Gomez), they create lots of goal chances, they're a notch above everyone else. Belgium were impressive today but against stronger teams (Wales included)... I'm not sure. I don't see them winning the tournament. Spain re...
