Re: 2017: What games are you looking forward to?

Persona 5 and Mass Effect Andromeda. High expectations from me, I look forward to two RPG masterpieces, no less.

Re: Fantasy Formula 1 2016 Season

So, me and supermariop for the title :D I'm 5 points ahead and it's all down to predictions

I won at my first attempt in 2013, then on the podium in 2014 and 2015... can't complain, but now it's time to retain the title!

Re: Formula 1 2016 thread

A very messy end to the race in any case! The stewards did a terrible job this weekend. They didn't even investigate Lewis for leaving the track on the first lap. They didn't give Gutierrez a penalty for causing carnage at the start, but they gave Saintz a penalty. If you look closely, Max was lock...

I think I love him.

Verstappen, if he's not sanctioned properly and promptly, is going to do more damage than good to this sport.

Re: From The Forum issue 162 - Retro Gaming Woes

I was reading a RG issue from 2006 just a couple of weeks ago, and was astonished by the quotations of the time, e.g. 20-30£ for an Amiga 1200. If I could teleport for a few days to ten years ago, now I'd have my house full of Commodore and Amiga computers and hardware. And I'd be quite rich on the ...

Forgettable console. But it had Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance at least.

Re: Formula 1 2016 thread

Massa, good driver. He missed his great chance in 2008 (not because of his faults), and after the 2009 accident he did not return as fast IMO. After 2010 the relationship with Ferrari became stale, and Alonso was plain stronger anyway, he should have switched teams before. Still, he totally deserved...

Re: Which system had the best sound?

Fair enough. :D Listen to a Speccy, C64 , A8 , VCS or ST tune today, and you can usually tell which machine it was from. Listen to an Amiga soundtrack and it could be from a PC, Megadrive etc. That's what I mean by iconic. Perhaps what I should have said is that I prefer the sounds from ST than Ami...

Re: Which system had the best sound?

Amiga music is overrated imho. Yeah, it did some great sampled stuff (Blood Money was awesome) , but it's trying to sound like something it isn't. ST music (like C64) is distinctive and iconic - Amiga isn't. I disagree but fair enough :) I really don't perceive ST music as iconic, I mostly find it ...

Re: Which system had the best sound?

Preferred ST sound over Amiga. Seriously? It's not an argumentative question, but what made you prefer the ST sound? The ST sound chip is widely considered as sh*t (it hasn't been even considered in the poll) and all the ST music I've listened to is flat and drab sounding, some musicians (e...

Being satisfied that the C64 was better than both Master System and NES, and that the Amiga was better than both Megadrive and SNES

Re: Which system had the best sound?

Voted for Paula , since I expected the SID to win anyway  the SID was way ahead of everything else at its time, and best of a lot that came after. I just got the second book of the Commodore 64 Visual Commpendium and it's telling how every page of the book, every developer or person that ha...

Re: Educate me on buying an Amiga

An A1200 (AGA), with a ram expansion (at least 4mb) and an internal hard disk (a CF card instead of a 2,5" drive is better) is the perfect setup for me. You load the games via Whdload, (almost) zero loading times, full compatibility.
The only downside is that it's a setup that costs around 350€.
