Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

T2k appeared on the ill-fated Jaguar, T3k appeared on the Nuon, a console that failed even more miserably. Minter's Tempest games have form for being brilliant but appearing on very niche hardware, so Ataribox would be a good home for T4k.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Finally some grown up games, and at least I've not played those before. I've played the first one on 3DS and Wii U, and it's excellent. I bought the second one on Steam in a sale but I haven't played it yet, I hear it's not great. If you haven't played the first, it's worth the price of admission a...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Another steady trickle of games announced today, including a compilation of the two Resident Evil Revelations games. The third-parties are definitely beginning to dip their toes...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Oh, I also picked up Levels+, a new puzzle game that's only a fiver on the eShop. I hadn't seen a review but gave it a go for the low price and was pleasantly surprised. It's a tile based puzzler that involves levelling up your characters, collecting treasure and fighting enemies and is REALLY addic...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Has anyone picked up Implosion? It's a Switch exclusive on console (though it did start life as a mobile game) and is reviewing really well. It's a mash-up of a fighting game and twin stick shooter, with some light RPG elements. It stands out in the eShop for looking and feeling vaguely like a 2017 ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Never mind GTA, what about the Red Dead games? I'd love a portable Red Dead, Gun on PSP was ace (being the nearest approximation). With iOS/Android ports of the old GTA games, it's odd we've not seen Red Dead yet, even more surprising we have no Nintendo GTA beyond Chinatown Wars on DS. Table Tenni...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Sorry, when I said Table Tennis and Bully were available on Nintendo systems I meant the Wii, not the Switch.

Re: James Bond Games

Having thought about it, I think the issue all Bond games face is the nature of the character. Bond's time in the films is more-or-less equally divided between being a detective, following clues and solving puzzles, and being an action hero who gets into fist fights, shootouts and car chases. While ...

Re: James Bond Games

I had the James Bond Collection on the Amiga, which consisted of Licence to Kill (fun, but very hard), Live and Let Die (fun, but far too easy) and The Spy Who Loved Me (fun, and just about right difficulty wise). I didn't play any of the other early Domark games, though I do remember hearing that A...

News on Super Mario Oddysey: You cannot get Game Over! http://en.rocketnews24.com/2017/07/05/nintendo-says-there-are-no-game-overs-ever-in-upcoming-super-mario-odyssey/ They've obviously been taking lessons from the Lego games which employ a similar mechanic. If it's like that, you'll get rewards f...

News on Super Mario Oddysey: You cannot get Game Over! “If Mario’s health drops to zero, or if he falls down a bottomless pit, you’ll lose 10 of your coins. But…! No matter how many times you’ll mess up, there’s never a game over.” And yet coins are, quite clearly, present in abundance in Super Mar...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Rumours now that we're getting the remastered version of LA Noire. Table Tennis, Bully, LA Noire... why will Rockstar bring so many of its games to Nintendo but not GTA? Aside from a few hand held spin-offs we've never seen a GTA title on Nintendo, and the Switch could run any of the titles in the s...

Re: SNES Mini Announced

I already own a SNES and most of the games included so this isn't really on my radar; a good thing, given how hard to get hold of it's bound to be. The killer app, of course, is Star Fox 2. Hopefully that'll get a release as a downloadable title on Switch so that the rest of us get a chance to play ...

I don't think The Dig was ever a movie.
IIRC the story for The Dig originated in an unmade episode of the TV series Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.
