Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Quick question about Skyrim. I want to play it, somehow I never have before. I can get it on Switch for around 40 quid OR I can play it on my PC. I already have it on PC in fact, bought it in a Steam sale months ago, however of course my computer is up in the study plugged into a small monitor, isn'...

Re: wii U

I have one. It's by no means perfect but worth it if you can get one cheap. Off-TV play can be a godsend if you live with a family, and there are definitely some very good games, many of which are exclusives. It does also have a few ports of stuff like Assassin's Creed, CoD and the Arkham games, tho...

Re: What's your favourite Nintendo arcade game?

Arcade Donkey Kong first saw in Blackpool & some kid told me not to bother as it was a waste of money and he died within seconds. They had in Porthcawl and there was always crowds playing it and I became addicted! could never get past screen 4 when you rescue Pauline, use to play the Atari 2600 ver...

Re: Too many worthwhile games?

I've gone from having a Wii U, which got one good game every 2 or 3 months, to Switch, which is getting 2 or 3 a WEEK. It's embarrassing how fast my pile of shame is growing.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

WHERE ARE FOLDERS?!!?!? I've stopped buying any more NeoGeo games until I can plonk them all in a nice neat folder rather than having dozens of them all cluttering my desktop.

Re: Electron Game: Left to right racer?

The Electron was my first computer, too. Loved it.

Anyway, US Drag Racing by Tynesoft? If you Google it you'll see an image, embarrassingly I'm on my phone and can't work out how to attach one to my post!

Re: Controversial magazine Reviews/Scores

One notable controversy was when GameSpot fired an employee due to giving "Kane & Lynch" a mediocre score. Apparently this didn't bode well with the publisher and they put pressure on GS to fire him. But it infact was a very boring game and is now a forgotten franchise and it did rise a few eyebrow...

Re: Controversial magazine Reviews/Scores

On the subject of controversial reviews, I do remember very vividly the 65% given to Sonic 2 in GamesMaster. Too easy and too similar to the original were the main complaints, so to be fair they did justify the mark and it wasn't just a case of trying to get attention. Yeah I recall people saying t...

Re: Controversial magazine Reviews/Scores

How did Rise of the Robots fair? I remember it being hyped in previews but being censored. That's an interesting one because, on the Amiga at least, there was a clear discrepency between the mags who were courted by the publisher and given advance review copies and lots of access and those that wer...

Re: James Bond Games

Managed to pick up all the PS2 releases - Goldeneye: Rogue Agent Everything or Nothing Nightfire Agent Under Fire Quantum of Solice From Russia with Love I know some of which are considered a bit pants but I couldn't help collecting a full set. I'm most looking forward to FRWL as I understand is Se...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Really good news about Doom. I don't own a PS4 or XBO and my main gaming PC is getting a bit long in the tooth so this means I'll finally be able to play it! Bethesda really do seem to be the first third-party to go 'all in' on Switch. Ubisoft apparently have a decent hit on their hands with Mario &...

Re: Tempest 4000 Announced

T2k appeared on the ill-fated Jaguar, T3k appeared on the Nuon, a console that failed even more miserably. Minter's Tempest games have form for being brilliant but appearing on very niche hardware, so Ataribox would be a good home for T4k.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Finally some grown up games, and at least I've not played those before. I've played the first one on 3DS and Wii U, and it's excellent. I bought the second one on Steam in a sale but I haven't played it yet, I hear it's not great. If you haven't played the first, it's worth the price of admission a...
