Re: Renting videotapes

I was only talking with the misses about this yesterday about how it seemed like a big event at the time and we both agreed that you were more likely to watch a film to the end (even if it was rubbish) than you would nowadays what with all the choices on offer. The first film that I think we rented ...

Re: Discuss Time! Issue 141 Your first gaming purchase

I think it was Pyramid on the ZX Spectrum, I thought I had bought Doomsday Castle until I had got home and realised what I'd gone and bought, still it was a good game though.

Re: When Rap Was Great!

Loved rap in the early 80's to mid 90's from artists such as Whodini, Egyptian Lover, Captain Rock, World Class Wreckin Cru up to artists such as Kool Moe Dee, BDP/KRS ONE (my favourite), Stetsasonic, Schooly D, EPMD etc, never understood the fascination with Public Enemy though always thought KRS 1...

Re: More woe for nintendo

Recently saw Kotaku trying to stir the pot with Ninty - http://kotaku.com/nintendo-responds-terribly-to-gay-marriage-petition-1572973952 - those guys really are professional trolls. A realistic-looking Zelda or Metroid game could get a lot of attention too. Metroid I could get behind, but I think a...

Re: Retro Gaming T Shirts?

Had loads of these over the years (even got a speccy themed Cheap MDF rubbish apron from the missus), my favourite one was a speccy on a 1970's style t-shirt.

Re: Why do you buy Retro Gamer?

Because like most people of a certain age we are old gits trying to cling to what's left of our youth, and the fact that there isn't another mag that caters for our hobby of retro gaming.

Re: More Vic 20 in the mag?

Would love to see more VIC20 in the mag even though I never owned one, I think it was a good machine in it's day compared to the ZX80/81 (loved the ZX81 mind).

Re: Is it time for some PS1 coverage?

Was never a fan of the PS1 (thought it was a bit too common), I preferred the more niche Saturn however if there is some coverage I will be more than happy to read it.

Re: What is retro?

For me retro is anything that takes people back to a older happier time, for me its the 8-bits of my childhood for someone else it could be 16,32,64 etc, as far as I'm concerned on this subject it is to each their own.
