I am loving this ish. My fave was the Definitive Frogger, very amusing and unexpectedly lengthy - good work Stuart.

Not a bad article in the whole mag (even if I did write one of them myself).

Thanks for the feedback peeps. I am a huge KOF fan, and loved writing the article. Shame that someone felt the need to remonstrate yet again that they skipped it because they dont like these sorts of game. I don't like more than half of the games that are featured in the mag, and skip most of it! Th...

LeeT is back with his definitive round-up and all is well in the RG world ;] "Fists of Flame - Played it a few times on the NGPC but not that interested." Yeah - truly definitive round up right there. And why do you people keep banging on about Gryzor this, Gryzor that? The home micro versions with...

On the subject of retro remakes, the only game of recent times that has been coded completely independently and then recieved a reasonable commercial release is Last Hope, which I picked up a few weeks ago, and can confirm is a load of wank. I don't say this flippantly either; it is a homage to hori...

The Desert Island Discs bit is crap. The reason why is that to my knowledge, apart from the Pickford Bros, everyone has selected the same sort of games - i.e. pre-90s arcade fare. Would be nice to hear from someone other than a late 70s/early 80s game developer who thinks Robotron is the pinnacle of...

I should have my own column, surely? At the very least a mugshot. Come on Darran - you knows it makes sense.

Most of the European-developed 8 bit games that get eulogised by the retro community are unplayable crap and only get love because of some heavily rose-tinted spectacles. Even with emulators at hand and the ability to find and purchase hardware readily, I have no desire to revisit any of the old 8 b...

Can't be arsed to read the whole threas, but a little ripple please for Elemental gearbolt on the PS1. Like Panzer Dragoon with lightgun mode, it has without a shadow of a doubt the best music on the console. Plus some nice anime cutscenes and it is done by Working Designs so the whole shebang (US o...

Super Metroid. Luckily I had a break of around ten years between owning the original and re-purchasing it after rediscovering my love for games - but still..... The stunning intro and opening titles screen, the atmosphere of panic and dread in the first little sction, the "dur ner ner ner nuuuuuuuur...

Hi - have PMd the guy who started the thread, wil provide details of the owner so this can be set up, sounds a good idea, Iwill say however the chances of the place being closed to the public are slim, as the internet cafe below is crucial to the business and makes shitloads of money. That said, it ...

Arcade open in Southampton!!!!!!!!

But don't get too excited, it is pretty rough around the edges yet.... A friend of mine has opened a fully working amusement arcade in Southampton with some cool games and the promise of more to come. It is slap bang in the town centre in NEW ROAD, above an Internet cafe there so easy to find. They ...

The ish sure sounds good. Am particularly excited about reading the Raiden article. Would have happily written that one myself, such is my lurve for the series. If it is of a similar calibre to the recent R-Type and Gradius features then obviously it will be the absolute tits. Cheers to all for the ...
