Re: Handheld only gamer?
I started my gaming life with a gemboy and Wario Land (Awesome game) but then forgot about portables until about 6 months ago when my love affair with my GBA ensued. I used to say I didn't like portables but actually I think it's just because I bought a DS and kind of hated it  it's very unco...

Re: Hot Topic - Best GTA Game
I used to think I liked GTA games, but I don't, I just love Vice City. It uses one of my favourite films ever as its inspiration (Scarface); it's just the right size so that you can get around without constantly checking a map or having to drive cross country for an hour; it's pink! and it has some ...

Re: Zelda Skyward Sword
Is it fair to say that the motion controls are good, possibly the best on the Wii; it's just that I really didn't like them. They do work, there's no doubt about that, but all in all using the Wiimote just gave me wrist/arm cramp and I would've preferred to use the classic controller for those exten...

Re: Hello all!! Newbie alert!
Yeah got to agree with sscott, an Xbox 360 wired remote is perfect for emus. If your into your RPGs then Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) is excellent to try, especially because the fan translation is so good.

Re: Game enemies you feel sorry for?
I know where your coming from. I tend to not kill as much as possible on Metroid Prime, especially the passive enemies. There's something so wrong about exploring a planet and slaughtering the indigenous wildlife. There's even a certain cuteness to those dogs with blocks of ice on their back - oh ho...

Re: Pre-rendered backgrounds.
Thanks people. Good to see I'm not alone with a love for the P.R. Background. And thanks Vulture for the Wikipedia link to the list of P.R. games, that'll come in handy.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
After getting Deathsmiles the other day and loving it, I couldn't resist buying DoDonPachi Resurrection as it was only £9.99 is Game. Looks way too hard for me but I don't mind with Cave because the game looks gorgeous and it came with a bonus soundtrack which is a very big + for me

Pre-rendered backgrounds.
I've been thinking the past few days about how much I love games with pre-rendered backgrounds in them. I was even thinking about setting myself the task of writing an exciting article about them (because P.R. backgrounds are exciting?). PS1 games such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil and Abe's Odyss...

Re: What are you currently playing?
Tryin out Final Fantasy VIII for what is probably the 4th-5th time. I never got past dsic 2. It never really captivated me, but since it's probably been around a decade since my last go I'll try it out again.

Re: Most annoying game character ever?
I've always found Chris Redfield a tad annoying. He's really serious and dull. I always play as Jill in RE1. It proably doesn't help that he accompanies you through one of the series' worst title RE5.

Re: Megadrive ultimate collection on PS3 and 360, who should
I just bought the MUC for the 360 today and got home to be atsounded with what's on it: Story of Thor, Dynamite Headdy, Phnatasy Star 2, 3 & 4 and the first 3 Shining Force games (that's a load of money right there. Streets of Rage 3 is quite pricey too). Started a little go on Phantasy Star IV and ...

Re: Zelda is on her last life
I understand why you want to like it. It's like you've missed something that other people are enjoying and you want t discover it. I'd say ALttP is a good choice to try next (Wind Waker would be my 2nd choice). Personally I think Zelda games are some of the easiest out there for not getting lost and...

Re: Your top 10 RPG's
I must admit I did feel a bit odd putting Zelda in, but others had done already... Its certainly doesn't feel like an RPG but is there a whole lot separating Zelda ALttP and Secret of Mana apart from the numbers and stats and magic and levelling up(does acquiring heart containers count as levelling ...

I'm seeing a lot of people showing their love for Skyward Sword, above the other titles in the series too. Quite surprising, but I am struggling to enjoy anything new at the mo... blinded by nostalgia

Re: Favourite/Least favourite game controller?
The Xbox 360 controllie is an ergonomic miracle, esp. those triggers! The Wii remote (and motion controls in general). It works at times (Resident Evil 4 stands out... that's about it really) but there are too many games where stupidly implemented wrist waggling breaks up gameplay and causes severe ...
