Re: Do you pickup retro games from cash converters/generator
Last thing I nabbed from a Cash Converters was a boxed PSX for about $AU30. Not often that you come across a Cashies here that doesn't have everything marked up to eBay Buy It Now prices, so I've basically given up.

Retro Gaming Australia YouTube Channel
Hey folks, Been running this YouTube channel alongside the main Retro Gaming Australia site for about 2 years now. Thanks to some recently acquired cheap (read: not very good) capture equipment, we've started to post some gameplay footage in a recurring series we call Retro Gaming Theatre. This is r...

Re: Are there any original xbox collectors on here?.
The Australian Xbox scene had loads more classics range and special editions I do not know the reason why In terms of market share, Australia was their most successful region (well that's what the MS brass used to tell us). I can only speculate about the broader range of classics - Xbox market here...

Re: What are your long term complete collection goals?
Generally I just go for the games I'm interested in - although that's a quite a lot. My fiancee loves JRPGs, so her list is long and expensive. As for complete collections, only the GameCube is calling my name. I've got all but a few of the best games in both PAL and NTSC (the GCN era was before the...

Re: The Best Nintendo Games You've (probably) Never Played
Bionic Commando: Elite Forces was developed by Nintendo Software Technology - not a bad expansion on the concepts of the NES game. Joy Mech Fight is a pretty cool 1 on 1 fighter that Nintendo published very late in the life of the Famicom. Seconding For Frog the Bell Tolls and Drill Dozer. Can't vou...

Re: When does the PS2 become "retro"?
I'm in the "it already is" camp. There's a distinctly different feel between the early PS2 line up and the games of today. I feel that if the current generation cycle had been the usual five years instead of dragging on for 7-8, most would feel the same way. That's without going into what games have...

Re: Limited/Collector's Editions Thread
Tempted by the Assassin's Creed III one since I have the ones for 2, Brotherhood and Revelations, but the budget might not stretch. Generally have decided to stop getting special editions over the last few months since the quality of them isn't quite justifying the price. Still in for Diablo III, an...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell your collection?
In all honesty, it's been the modern parts of the collection that I've been more tempted to sell as of late. The price wars on games in the UK have proved quite lucrative to Australians like myself through importing. The lower prices have resulted in me not being as picky as I used to be, so I've go...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Nabbed a SCPH-7502 from the local Cash Converters the other day for $AU29. Not often that you see a boxed system in a second hand shop in Australia, let alone one that's complete and not been pissed all over by the family pet, yet is priced like gold bullion. Bit dusty on the outside, but the unit i...

Re: Megadrive Collectors Thread
Haven't done a whole lot of Mega Drive collecting lately. I had a list of about 120 games I wanted, but I think I wittled it down to about half of that. Haven't been able to buy much lately on account of money issues. Main things I want to do are get the good Disney games (Castle of Illusion, Aladdi...

That was an excellent series of articles, John. I hope you hear from more companies in the future so you can do a follow up :) My site is Retro Gaming Australia . Shameless self promotion and all that jazz. Originally I started the site with a friend because we were dissatisfied with the lack of a l...

Re: the ps 2 has turned 11
Got my first one in December 2000, about a fortnight after the Australian launch and it has never really let me down. First game was Tekken Tag Tournament. Bought a modded one in 2006 to play Okami and Katamari Damacy, it was a right pain in the arse, so I ended up using it exclusively for HD Loader...

Re: How big is your collection
1,700+ spread over the major formats. It does skew a little modern though, since the missus worked in gaming retail and I was in the industry for a few years. Also got another 100 odd promos (mainly PS2, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360) from our respective jobs. I'd say 90% of the collection is in very good t...

Re: What Konami games do you feel deserved more limelight?
The Asterix and Bucky O'Hare arcade games. Good little beat 'em ups in the same style as the more famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men and The Simpsons. They would probably have seen more exposure if they were more readily available back in the day, though.
