Re: Subscriptions Queries
(Deleted my own post - After working out that the 'biggest sale ever" discount was already applied - despite asking me for a coupon code. Bit confusing, but there you go.)

For anyone else who'd prefer to use their gamepad, you can just download Joy2Key
and set it up to passthrough your button presses into keyboard inputs.

Re: Improving the magazine
For example this month the Game Room part says that all games are 240 points. Is that good? Is it 50p each, or £5? I have no idea. I think adding the price in brackets would be good. Quoting 'points' enables readers from around the world to instantly know how much that game costs to them . ie: With...

My index says RG 21, pages 52-55.
(From memory, it was a really good article, quite comprehensive. Kudos to whomever wrote it.)

OK, This will be long... but hey, I'll just write once! Anything I've quoted below, take as a "HERE! HERE!", thumbs up, etc. End game / Boss Rush updated - drop the humour from both and give more in depth detail of the endings & bosses. "Back to the..." - alternate cinema charts with the music chart...

Great to hear this - well done.
I must admit... I only discovered Alf's work in recent years - via Psytroniks' Last Amazon Trilogy compilation.
I'd personally love to hear about the arcade games that inspire him, and specifically which scenes/levels/play mechanics from each.

Re: Blog Traffic?
As others have said in this thread, blog traffic can vary infinitely, as does how much work you want to do, and the effectiveness of that work. Jason gives you an example, of a blog with interesting/unique content, but as he says "He doesn't do any real PR for it". But that makes sense, Jason does a...

Ever played Bubble Symphony on MAME then?
I find it even better than 'memories'. Better graphics and sound; feels more 'complete' to me.
(I don't like the 'cheap photo' backgrounds in 'memories')

Re: Hydorah - PC indie shmup (free)
Hydorah is... an astounding achievement. It's the "Late 80s horizontal shmup remake" equivalent of Spelunky or Cave Story. It's. That. Good. The sheer level of imagination and professionalism in the graphics/music/enemies/levels is fantastic. If you enjoyed Gradius/Salamander/R-type/X-Multiply... it...

I have no idea about RG/Imagine, but I work in another form of media,
and I don't believe our company is big on publishing 'rate cards'.

Re: Blog
Just discovered this thread - and I've already noted a few blogs I'll be keeping an eye on. Great stuff! Here's a few posts from my blog I thought worth mentioning*.. (Blogged today) I bring you news of the "virtual arcade" that will suck less than Microsoft's Game Room And 'previously'.... Pix of a...

Youtube? Pffffffffffft!
Here's 5 years of "Best of the Year" mashup albums - available in both 'continuous mix' and 'seperate track' formats.
(Plus lovely album artwork to print out, if you're so inclined)
Enjoy!

Re: From the Forum question for issue 74
My favourite one which I still have and works to this day is The Arcade Turbo Joystick for my C64 and Amiga. It's regarded as one of the best joysticks ever made as its a home joystick of the sticks found in arcade machines during the 80's. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3b/T...
