Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

I own a 1st gen iPad and we have just gotten a couple of the new iPads in the office, and I am glad I didn't buy one myself. Yeah the screen is nice, but not that amazing. And the weight is probably what bothers me the most. It weights almost as much as the old one and I would defiantly want a light...

Re: Retro Gamer Now On IPhone

Does the iOS version of the 100th issue not include the first issue?

Re: What are you currently playing?

At the moment I am totally addicted to Forza 4, and have been for the last month.

In the retroarea, I bought the id superpack on Steam on sale for christmas, and am currently playing through the first Heretic game. Great fun. Is there even any fantasy first-person shooters these days?

Re: The all new 2012 'What is Retro?' thread!

If someone asks me why I am playing such an old and outdated game, then I will consider that game to be retro.

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Just got got Doom Classic which is on sale at the moment. I am surprised how well the controls actually work. FPS games are hard to get right on iOS devices. Didn't that game get slaughtered for its supposedly poor controls in the review in the RG mag'? Perhaps an update has been released since the...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Have anyone tried either RPG Quest - Minimæ or Guardian Saga? Both look quite similar 8-bit turn-based RPG. Just looking for some recommendations for one or the other :)

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Can anyone recommend any good iPhone strategy games? Pref. turn based. Obviously the iPad would be better suited to the genre, but I don't have one yet! :( UniWar is a nice turn based hexagon strategy game. Military Madness: Neo Nectaris is another great retro game in the same genre. A port of the ...

An old Amiga classic, Emerald Mine, has been ported to the iPad. It is pretty good and free!

Re: From the forum Issue 93

Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I will say Super Metroid. That game has one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Re: Duke Nukem Forever...

Well, I must admit I rather enjoyed the game and I am now working on the achievements in the PS3 version. I haven't enjoyed an FPS game like that since the Serious Sam games, and I am really tired of all those military shooters the market is full of today, so some old-school shooting was very much w...

Re: So, who doesn't give a crap about Zelda?

I have downloaded A Link to the Past for Virtual Console, but haven't played it that much. It falls in between what I like in these kind of games, which is either turnbased RPG or violent hack-n-slash. Zelda is neither, a bit to "cute" and with puzzles. Still, ALttP has its good sides. There are les...

Re: E3

I fail to see the point with a touchscreen in a controller. When playing on a TV console I will look at the TV screen, not the controller. Why the need for two screens at once? I can only see it somewhat useful in some kind of games. RPGs where you can your inventory, but really, it is defiantly not...

Re: PSP2 thoughts?

I might buy it. I have been looking at a PSP to play PSone games on especially, but might as well wait for this to come out. But the concept of interactivity with PS3 sounds interesting also :)
