Re: Revival 2014 Event Feedback: did you go, what did you th

As one of a small group of people who were there that helped out on behalf of the Centre for Computing History, one of the charities to benefit from the event I thought Revival 2014 went very well. Even though it was very busy in the large second room where our kit was all set up, the feeling of bei...

Re: Home Brew Section

Also, check out the free PD games section at http://www.pouet.net. Games are available for most computers and consoles, though bear in mind that "modifications" may be required to run some of the freeware on offer.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 119 - Feedback Thread

This is the best issue yet to be released.

The article about Q-bert was very interesting, loved playing this in the arcades and the PS3 port on PSN is also worthy of playing too.

Overall a great read once again ;) Keep up the good work, Darren & the crew ;)

Re: Best game creation software

On the ST, we had STAC (the ST Adventure Creator) and also STOS, with the equivalent package on the Amiga, AMOS. Sadly STAC was never ported to the Amiga but on the ST it was a brilliant package for producing text adventures with graphics. We mustn't forget The Quill and The Illustrator, which allow...

Re: recommend a psn game

There's a rather excellent conversion of Sega's classic motorbike racer, Super Hang-On, that is available on PSN and is very well recommended. It has the look and feel, along with the playability, of the original conversions released for the Atari ST and Amiga, back in the day. Not quite sure what p...

Re: PLAY EXPO (formerly Replay), 13-14 October 2012, Manches

The four of us (myself & my wife, also my best mate and his good lady) arrived at EventCity around 3pm on the Saturday, so we missed the large queue that I'd been reading about in earlier posts on this thread. We had a fantastic time. Although it was a little bit strange for the event itself not to ...

Re: Play the Lass after shows

This should be a very cool evening event :) If you'd like to have a demoshow - showing releases from recent demoparties such as Revision 2012 then let me know, I'm sure we could rig something up if there's a big screen & projector there that we can link up a laptop to. This could be after the Electr...

Re: Atari ST Emulator Help

Darran, Even though Steem and SainT are good emulators, the best one which works on both Mac and PC is Hatari. Hatari can be downloaded from http://hatari.tuxfamily.org/index.html There is a support forum also for Hatari at http://www.atari-forum.com . Just scroll down the page and you'll see the se...

Sundown 2012 (UK Demoparty) is on !

Friday, 7 September 2012 at 15:00 until Sunday, 9 September 2012 at 17:00 The mighty Dotwaffle will be joining me once again for the resurrection of the UK Demoscene's favourite seaside party! Do excuse the sparse details for the moment, but this here is a placeholder until I fill in all the details...

Demoscene coverage ?

I've been a member of the demoscene (on all platforms) and would like to see more coverage of the scene and UK parties, such as Sundown.

I can probably help out on articles if needs be.

Cheers,

Rich

Re: From the forum - Retro Gamer turns 100

Congratulations on reaching issue 100. Retro Gamer, for me, has been something worth looking forward to reading every month. The quality of journalism in the magazine is excellent, compared to all other British magazines and we can all feel proud of this. I have noticed often on visits to the US in ...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 98

Issue 98 is the best one yet by far. Thanks to Darran and the team for including my comment about Starglider, towards the back of the magazine :) It was lovely to read the article on the history of Space Harrier - though I didn't see any mention of the recent homebrew release on the Atari 8-bit. How...

Re: From The Forum issue 98

I would have to say 'Starglider' on the ST, though to be honest they released some of the best software ever written for the ST market.

Re: Replay Expo 2011 - Official Thread

This was my first ever Replay event and I enjoyed it very much, along with my wife and my best man, who also came to the show with us. We were part of the Jagfest-UK team who were situated close to the Attic Bug corner stand and we'd also brought an Atari Falcon computer, running various games, alon...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 85

Many thanks once again for another fantastic issue of Retro Gamer. I personally enjoyed the in-depth article on Lemmings, enjoying in particular the interview with the guy responsible for the music who also worked on the classic Amiga demo 'Puggs in Space'. I often thought there were similarities be...
