Re: Club Nintendo magazines

I think I have the one with Starfox on the front so I'm sure it goes into SNES times - but only just I think. I'm after a complete set but just am not sure when they finished. Looking for the right auctions is going to be a long hard slog but I'm sure I can get them cheaper than some of the ones cur...

Club Nintendo magazines

Does anyone how many issues of this there are and what additional materials they produced? I'm thinking it got phased out around 1993 when they were in volume 5? If anyone can clarify I'd be grateful. I also know about the maps leaflet that included Simons Quest and Zelda 2. Was there any other such...

1st bundle of Retro Gamer Mags

Pickup 50+ back issues of the mag on Ebay the other week and picked them up last night. First time I've been able to source the magazine. Paid £13 for the lot which is a bargain. Earliest Episode is no 38 "When Grey Mattered". A really interesting read. I'm now on the look out for more issues to add...

Re: Is there any way to stop the rising cost of retro?

Wow - that is a lot of stuff mate! Collected before the price hikes I guess? Difficult to know what to do. You'd certainly get a pretty penny for it all! Having said that, there isn't a day that goes by where I wish I hadn't sold up. Not necessarily because of the cost to replace them in today's mar...

Is there any way to stop the rising cost of retro?

I know this has probably been discussed many times before and on many different websites, but nothing seems to be stopping prices going higher and higher. This thread doesn't necessarily apply to the truly rare and highly sought after titles that will always at least hold value, but more to the ever...

Re: Poor sequels

After playing Bart VS The Space Mutants, I thought Bart VS The World was really disappointing. I also didn't think Batman Return of the Joker was anywhere near as good as the first one on the NES either. I know it's not a direct sequel, but after playing through Secret of Mana, I was somewhat underw...

Re: Do you prefer Mario 2D or 3D games?

2d for me. Mario 64 was excellent but I played SMB 3 for 2 weeks solid until I finally finished it when I got it for Christmas in 1990. Didn't know where the warps were and couldn't save it. When my mate then showed me Mario World when he first got his SNES it was like all my Christmases had come at...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Nice GBA Bundle. Limited Pink Console 15 Boxed Games (good titles like Mario Advance, Metroid Fusion, Advance Wars etc...), and about another 15 loose carts. First game up on the list to play - Zelda Oracle of Ages.

Re: Five 8-bit Games You'd Still Play Today

I only owned a NES when younger and haven't played more than 5 games on any other 8bit platforms so here's my five NES games I would (and still do) play today: 1. Super Mario Bros 3 2. The Legend of Zelda 3. Metroid 4. Snake Rattle n Roll 5. Punch-Out! Few more I could easily include: Castlevania Me...

Re: Enemies you hate in games

The Grim Reaper and the end of stage 15 in Castlevania on the NES. Four hit and you die and he teleports all over the place, chucks multiple boomerangs at you at once and battling against Simon's own jump. Many a NES controller took some punishment. Fluked him a couple of times and eventually finish...

Re: NES Repro Consoles query

Not related to the post but it's the first time I've seen you post in a bit Lorfarious. I miss Nes-bit :) Do you have any grand ideas for the future or is that a project long gone and dead in the water? Ps: Good luck with the collecting - even if you're going for carts it's gonna be 3-5 time more ex...
