Re: what is your rarest retro item/or most favourite retro item?
I have a Commodore P500 I bought at a bootsale for £4 many years ago, had no idea what it was, it switches on but I don't have a lead to connect it to a TV/Monitor so never fully tried it. It's quite a low serial number (964 I think!) Anyone who knows about these, knows their scarcity and therefore ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Bought a PS1 Classic from a work colleague for £40, seemed bit of a bargain, not tried it yet though Bought a Wii U for £40 from Facebook marketplace, needs the AC adaptors which I found cheap on eBay, so looking forward to Mario kart 8 when its up and running! Its a 32gb one as well and came with a...

Re: Panasonic 3D0
I think I have 3 FZ-1's and an FZ-10, all bought cheap from eBay when nobody wanted them. Road Rash is definitely the stand-out game, though Need For Speed is pretty good too. I remember seeing a demo unit in a sweet/computer shop back when I was at school, seemed impressive until I saw the price-tag!

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Not bought (yet, but may be gifted to me anyway!) PS2 Phat with 3rd party controller, horizontal stand with 4-way multi-tap, a power cable that has nothing to do with the console, and an AV cable that also has nothing to do with the console. And a purple Gameboy Advance with a Gameboy cartridge in t...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??
Trip into Croydon this weekend left me £40 lighter! I found a nice Atari Lynx carry case, a Philips CD-I FMV cartridge, so now all my CD-I's have a one, and the Domark Star Wars games on the Atari St.

Re: From The Forum issue 174 - Your favourite Xbox game
Not being a mega-fan of the X-Box, the only game I spent anytime on was Project Gotham. A mate and me would challenge each other with lap times and just normal racing, got quite intense at times!

I believe the people who owned the shop increased the rent and they simply couldn't cover their overheads. Sad, but that's how the high street is these days.

Re: Retro Games Shops, Arcades/Barcades, Gaming Museums/Exhibits & Retro Gaming Events Listing
Nice post! I can confirm that Retro Game Base has now closed down (sadly!) Heart Of Gaming in Croydon is turn-up, pay £10 per person, and all machines/consoles are on freeplay for as long as they are open. The owner/proprietor is a top guy, it's very much a work-in-progress kinda place at the moment...

Dynablaster for the Gameboy for £5 and Bomberman Land 2 for the DS for £10, not tried either yet, but as usual they will be cracking little games, and my lack of skill/dexterity will be the ultimate fail!

Re: TV Troubles
Could you not have claimed on your house insurance? I know its a bit dishonest, but a small accident whilst moving it downstairs and the money for a new tv! (disclaimer: I have NEVER done this myself but I do know people who have!)

Re: Games genres that you just don't like
I can't stand games like World Of Warcraft, mostly because I'm rubbish at them. I'm also crap at games like Populus, I just can't get myself into them.

Re: Anyone went computing/video gaming at school?
First school was a BBC Micro, with the monitor on a stand on wheels. If we were good in class, we'd play Grannie's Garden as a class effort. I don't remember even touching a computer in middle school, in Secondary, they had BBC Master with Interword embedded. Always remember having to type '*IW.' at...
