Re: Retro Gamer Review Marks

I still haven't forgiven Darran for the 100% rating for Super Mario Galaxy 2... still waiting for an apology for that one! :D All that horrible jumping about, deserves no more than about 82% in my books. Funnily enough I got SMG-2 based on Darren's review of it, but haven't gotten round to playing ...

Re: Retrogaming Spotlight: Kung-Fu Master

This game, and Decathlon, were the first two ports I saw on the C64 that made me realise that my beloved Apple II had been surpassed in all ways, I couldn't believe how good even the C64 version was. And the arcade version of course is the best, still plays great to this day, love trying out all the...

Re: Retrogaming Spotlight: Kung-Fu Master

The sequel that never was........ Kung Fu Master II / Spartan X II Arcade Prototype https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efr9EQkbCSQ Irem dumped it and went with Vigilante instead. Damn! That looks great, looks like a decent sequel, and I think Kung Fu Master was definitely a game that would have done w...

Re: From The Forum: 196

I don't want a PC Engine mini, I want a PC Engine Maxi! With Outrun! I cried buckets of tears in my youth knowing I had to settle for a dreadfully inferior 8-bit port whilst all those PCE kids were laughing merrily at my expense. I still need therapy to this day.

Re: Zzap! Annual 2020 kickstarter

Yep, you now get the keyring too! I did sign up, and got an earlybird special, which astounded me. Someone must have cancelled and I signed up at the exact right time as there was one sitting there. For good measure I decided to go and get the 2019 Crash annual, seeing I hadn't opted to buy the sec...

Re: Zzap! Annual 2020 kickstarter

^^ You were the one who got me on their last Kickstarter with praise about Fusion products and I must concur, I completely agree, great products and everything was on time with the last campaign, so I had to go again this time 'round. :) So thanks for the heads up, your advice was spot on. ;)

that's brilliant, I loved his column, always got a hearty chuckle to start off the mag which I do think is missed, I thought it made a big difference as it was the perfect start.

Re: New highly impressive CPC game

Well that looks amazing.. looks to me like it was based off Lotus on Amiga, or a combination of Lotus and Outrun and it looks very promising indeed.

Amazing what they're accomplishing with the classic machines, proves old dogs can indeed be taught new tricks :)

Re: From the forum: 192

don't tell me i'm getting confused in my old age.. I thought it was Ocean but indeed it may certainly have been Imagine.. in that case Combat School on the '64 was arguably more fun than its arcade counterpart and happily consumed a small pile of joysticks in pursuit of final conquer-ance - which sa...

Re: From the forum: 192

Ocean releases always got me excited because you equated them with quality, so I knew when I doled out my hard earned newspaper round cash it wouldn't be wasted. Salamander on the '64 was my favourite, a blitzing shoot 'em up with a cracking tune that bested the arcade in my opinion, absolutely felt...

Re: Top 10 PS2 games - vote now!

10 - Resident Evil 4 (For me the best game of all time so it demands top place) 9 - High Heat Baseball 2004 (just gets everything right and no other baseball game feels quite like it) 8 - Mafia (for its time an incredible achievement, great game and feels just like an interactive, high-class movie) ...
