Re: From the forum: 192

don't tell me i'm getting confused in my old age.. I thought it was Ocean but indeed it may certainly have been Imagine.. in that case Combat School on the '64 was arguably more fun than its arcade counterpart and happily consumed a small pile of joysticks in pursuit of final conquer-ance - which sa...

Re: From the forum: 192

Ocean releases always got me excited because you equated them with quality, so I knew when I doled out my hard earned newspaper round cash it wouldn't be wasted. Salamander on the '64 was my favourite, a blitzing shoot 'em up with a cracking tune that bested the arcade in my opinion, absolutely felt...

Re: Top 10 PS2 games - vote now!

10 - Resident Evil 4 (For me the best game of all time so it demands top place) 9 - High Heat Baseball 2004 (just gets everything right and no other baseball game feels quite like it) 8 - Mafia (for its time an incredible achievement, great game and feels just like an interactive, high-class movie) ...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

The DS version is pretty good. agree! I just played it yesterday actually, first time I think Ive ever played a version of Dragon's Lair all the way through, even though Ive had lots of different versions of it. I think the DS is perhaps the most 'playable' of any of the versions ive played. Having...

Suppose it's sad but it's also inevitable.

EDGE needs to go if it hasn't already. Pretentious, up itself industry talk that directly counters the idea of videogames being for entertainment and fun.
Haha, you put it very well! It takes itself waaaaaay too seriously.

Re: Tiny Arcade

^^ that's great it suits your needs, and your description sounds just like how I might have described the original system, things do get better quite a bit when you upgrade the firmware and get a new interface and emulators. just that joystick/arcade interface, i'd had loved that, to have a mini arc...

Re: Zzap64 Annual kickstarter now open

Quite excited now shipped, Chris said all the international ones went out Friday, so should see it in three-ish weeks. I just bought a set of issues 1-37 of ZZap off a local auction, which I'm stoked about, and all really mint. Which has made me look forward to the annual even more :) yeah me too, ...
