Re: Retro Gamer Letters Page 218
A new, complex, scary, expensive, but terribly exciting leap into the world of the PC after the comparatively simple dealings-with 8-bit and 16-bit machines. I've never had such a love/hate relationship with anything as much as the PC world. Which is probably why I've bought so many of those mini co...

Re: What's the most iconic retro game that's actually rubbish?
Thats a good one, Moon Cresta, looks the part but wow, such a big miss, just horrible to play. Golden Axe, well I never actually thought of that until I realised yeah thats actually pretty annoying to be honest and I never play it, I wouldnt say its rubbish though. Altered Beast I find disappointing...

Re: From the forum issue 208: Eighties pick'em
Console : Sega Master System. Best overall arcade-at-home experience, wide variety and decent-to-really-good ports most of the time. Computer : Amiga. Just sheer variety of both original games and arcade ports, that amazing sound chip, and lets not skirt around it, 'free' games. Arcade : Donkey Kong...

Delores - A Thimbleweed Park mini adventure
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1305 ... Adventure/
just saw this today, haven't played it yet, damn how cool is that? Free mini adventure, and I rate Thimbleweed Park in my top 3 adventures of all time so this is a treat.

I'm trying to beat the all-time high score on arcade (MAME) 'Donkey Kong' and failing tremendously.

Re: From the Forum - Issue 203: The Nostalgia Effect
Both. I enjoy playing the games I loved but also venture out into the worlds of other systems. I have found out in recent years the rather terrifying realisation that those rose-tinted glasses, once firmly welded on have somewhat lost their grip; the games I once felt superior on 'my' systems just p...

Re: Video game documentaries?
I think the one that blew me away the most way the Tetris players in 'Ecstasy Of Order". Prior to watching that, I thought I was a pretty decent gamer... but that sure set me straight! That was just out of this world.. their reflexes and powers of concentration really are otherworldly, just about.

Re: Video game documentaries?
Get Lamp... I hadn't seen that one, cheers guys, that was a good one. After that I watched the Infocom documentary also by Jason Scott, and I even preferred that one over Get Lamp. Wish I'd kept track of the doco's Ive seen, starting to become forgetful in my older age :P But more often than not I f...

Re: From The Forum Issue 202
Hmm, that's a good one. For me its a split between the City of Lost Heaven in Mafia which immerses you so effectively in another time period, and the amazing sepia-shaded world of Resident Evil 4 of which there is nothing quite like.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 201
loved the issue, so much good stuff. Conan... wow that was a great surprise, just painfully short though, I wish it was an interview twice as long! The Jet Set Willy feature was fantastic, Matthew Smith is such an interesting individual, and a laugh to boot. And as mentioned above by Whazeboo, Fist ...

Re: From The Forum Issue 201
Super Mario Land on Gameboy hit that perfect point for me, in terms of playability, lastability and difficulty level, it just got everything right.
