Re: PS3 Help - YLOD!! :-(

My old fat PS3 did this and I didn't have ps plus on the ps3 so nothing was cloud saved (but I did after I stopped playing it so much on my ps4 just hadn't gone back to backup my saves) I cooked the bugger in the oven for 20 mins, it melted a bit of the corner plastic together but made it work again...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 179

Pretty good issue. Pacman and MS Sonic being the highlights for me personally. The CD holds no nostalgia for me at all as the only game I've played out of all of them is Ghouls and Ghosts (I played loads of OTHER Commodore games but not those) however I found the music to be excellent and a good lis...

Re: From The Forum issue 180 - Favourite Bitmap Brothers Game

Xenon 2 on account of it being one of the earliest games I remember playing...and the only bitmap brothers game I've actually played!

Re: Sonic Mania (Brand New Retro Inspired Sonic Game)

I saw this when it was announced.

Physical release and Mighty/Ray were enough to sell it for me.

Re: Quintessential Games

1. Platformer - Sonic 3 & Knuckles (big scope compared to most platformed and fun) 2. Shoot 'em up - Sol Feace/Feace (bloody good fun with a great soundtrack and easy to get into but not bullet hell) 3. Adventure - Difficult but Zelda Ocarina of Time (I prefer Majora's but this is more accessible to...

Re: From the forum issue 178 - Goldeneye

I was more of a single player person back then. The campaign blew me away with its objectives and scope. It was like nothing i had ever played.

Re: The Last Starfighter

I really enjoyed the film back in the day. I had a taped copy off BBC when they aired it randomly in 1990 or so.

I watched it an awful lot back then. Didn't care if the computer graphics were iffy, it was super cool for a young kid!

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

I picked it up a couple days ago. First portion of the mag looks really good. Latter half not so much.

As for the top 30. Can't say I disagree massively with how it turned out. Not sure on the SNES being Number 1 but hey ho!

Re: Questions For Ken Williams

What was behind the decision to make Police quest as strictly procedural?

I always found that fascinating as a kid when I played Police Quest 2. Having to turn the screws on your gun sights to make it accurate and having to follow procedure correctly with paperwork and reading rights etc.

Re: Controversial gaming opinions

I'd agree on the Gameboy Zelda's. The SNES one was ace but the same experience on the handheld for Awakening and the oracle series was a great dual game idea!

My controversial opinion is streets of rage 1 is better then 2! Shock!

Re: From The Forum issue 177 - 2018 retro wishes

I'd love an N64 Mini. It'd have to have most of these games on though, which I know is unlikely for various reasons, but mostly licensing: Blast Corps Body Harvest Conker's Bad Fur Day Excitebike 64 F Zero X (with level editor) Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon Perfect Dark Space Station Silicon Valle...
