Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Nex Machina on the PS4. Was reduced to £2.74 in the PS Store, so I thought why the hell not?

Re: 8/16/32bit Youtube channel thing...

It's new video day!

In this one, I look at what I'm calling the "lost" generation of consoles.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Star Wars Squadrons.

It's a modern take on X-Wing. And I'm loving it.

Re: Panasonic 3D0

Not that I've ever done it (with any console) but I tend to agree that iso loaders and related mods are the way to go. These old machines are going to break down eventually, especially the 90's era CD-based consoles. I used to just buy cheap console-only units and swap out drives, lasers etc. but t...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

You don't need an ISO loader for the 3DO.

Just burn the iso to a CD-R. Job done.

Re: Coronavirus

Working in retail, I'd love to be able.to refuse entry to customers who refuse to wear a mask because "you can't make me" (I've had many customers say that to me this past few months). But I'm not allowed to because my employer is concerned that I'll be assaulted (as are most other retailers)...

Re: Coronavirus

Part of the problem is that everything from the Government was couched as "guidelines" and "advice". They purposefully avoided using words such as "mandatory", "Compulsory", and "legal requirement". This lead many to incorrectly assume that they didn't have to comply (and still don't). In other news...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

Oh, the price of 3DO games has been steadily rising for the past couple of years. I picked up a few titles for well under £20 that are regularly going for more than that now.

Re: Analogue Making A New PC Engine

Another system from Analouge where they are creating artificial limits to availability.

The machine won't be ready for at least a year. So they can keep selling them, and manufacture as many as they sell, right? Nope. Put an arbitrary limit on the quantity, and create an artificial buzz...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

Emulate? It's still not a great experience to emulate the 3DO. The best emulator is closed-source and in Russian, and the best Retroarch core hasn't been maintained in years and has poor audio which is a bit of a shame given how the soundtracks are the best things going for a lot of the games. The ...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

I think I have 3 FZ-1's and an FZ-10, all bought cheap from eBay when nobody wanted them. Road Rash is definitely the stand-out game, though Need For Speed is pretty good too. I remember seeing a demo unit in a sweet/computer shop back when I was at school, seemed impressive until I saw the price-t...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

I also have a 3DO PC Card for a computer too as well as the console. Think is was called the 3DO Blaster, its up in the loft now inside my old desktop pc and not been used for years. Yeah, there was a deal done between the 3DO company and Creative Labs. I think it came as a package. You got a CD ROM...
