Balloon Challenge (MS-DOS Soleau Game Port) for Android

Hi all, If you were a fan of the MS-DOS games from Soleau Software in the late 80s and early 90s, then you probably came across Balloon Challenge. With William Soleau's blessing I have ported it to the Android platform. If you have an Android Smartphone or Tablet, you are more than welcome to play i...

Re: Nightmare Park (Commodore PET) for Android

Hi, yes, both those games should work on VGA Windows mobiles. I know I have had hem running on 640x480 )2 Exec PDAs. Npark will run in landscape (set by the app) and ADVPDA gives you the option in the game settings to select Landscape or Portait running. Why not give them a go and report back? Pleas...

Re: From the forum issue 115 - Adventure games

I am a big fan of Scott Adams' Adventures from the early 80s, especially Pirate's Cove, and more recently I have been a one of the few lucky enough to beta test his new game - The Inheritance. YES! HE'S BACK! The Grandmaster of Adventure and one of the father's of the computer gaming industry. http:...

Re: Nightmare Park (Commodore PET) for Android

Yes as far as I know it was originally a type in listing. Unless Bob Chapppell made it from an earlier commercial game, but I have yet to find any evidence of that. And I have looked. A lot. Over many years. :) I so agree with you on NP's victim claim message :) Other games are just plain old "GAME ...

Re: Nightmare Park (Commodore PET) for Android

LOL, nice, I had the same impresssion also at my school computer club in the early 80s when I found a PET cassette with "NPARK" scribbled on it :) We are two of a kind it seems as I have written it for the 64 and PC (DOS TEXT colour 40x25) using Turbo Pascal in the mid 80s and then again much later ...

Nightmare Park (Commodore PET) for Android

Hi all, It's a long time since my last post but I have now successfully made Nightmare Park for Android. For those of you old enough to remember when you were in the mid 80s, when Paperboy was the latest release and "retro" then meant a green screen game, well this game is truly the retro of retro. ...

Re: 'Get Lamp' The text adventure DVD docu release confirmed

I'd give it another couple of weeks. I think he is still posting them out. If it does not arrive by then, I'd zap him an email. I went to a "pound shop" today (UK) (I guess in the USA they are called a dollar-ninety-nine store?) - ANYWAY - went in for some picture hooks and guess what I saw ... a la...

Re: 'Get Lamp' The text adventure DVD docu release confirmed

I don't think people are necessarilly saying it isn't worth it. Just that it is too much to shell out for a non-essential purchase. If I pay that price for a game at least I expect to get 20 hours of play from it (and some trade or replay value), whereas the DVD is unlikely to provide that. Had it ...

Won't post my thoughts yet - will let others get their DVDs and watch first so as not to spoil. As kiwimike mentioned above, coin is nice 'n' hea...
