Re: Japanese XBox 360 Questions

The DVD Playback will be locked to the parent region. I don't have a Japanese console, but I do have an XDK which I can configure to present as any region console for testing purposes. Yes, you can set the dash to English in JP retail consoles, and yes, Japanese consoles (including the slim) can pla...

Re: Games that pushed a system to the limit

It's difficult to convey in screen shots as the real strength of the game is seeing it in motion, so even despite the dubious nature of calling it "retro" I'm going to nominate.. Shadow of the Colossus ! http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20051207/3dwa07.jpg Excusing the grandiose scale, fantastic...

Re: Most common video game mispronounciations

I have indeed. But i just asked my wife how it is pronounced. Does your wife know it is a Japanese game title? Though the source novel is Chinese , the word "Suikoden" is how the title is rendered in Japanese . And how do we pronounce that? I'll break it down for you: Su i ko de n す い こ で ん Pardon ...

That is much closer to being correct. You wouldn't hold too long on the Sui part to make it 'Sue-ee'.

Re: Most common video game mispronounciations

They're flat out wrong on Suikoden, fwiw. It's clearly pronounced in MGS1 as "Sue Eee Koe Den". Swee-ko-den? wtf?
Credibility of that list = gone.
