Re: Top 10 Hardest SNES Games

Ghosts and goblins killed people in real life. That's how punishing it was.

Re: Simple Vs Complicated

It sounded like a normal discussion until you started with the abuse mate. The guy was just posting to get a thread going. Isn't that the point of forums? :)

Re: The Full New Fast Five Trailer!

People like to rag on Vin Diesel, but he's just as much a gaming nerd as we are. Unlike the majority of us though you could probably break rocks on his abs.

Looking forward to this one.

Re: Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 3D Opening Feb.10 2012

Star Wars is not science fiction This negates everything else in your argument ;) Of course its sci fi. It has two Death Stars with technical weaknesses for starters. Laser swords, space ships, alien creatures - all sci fi trappings. How does that negate everything else in my argument?! I think I q...

Re: Why the Amstrad was gaming's best 8-bit computer

Discuss. Fundamental mistakes cost the Amstrad its place. 1. Not being playable on a regular telly. It meant I couldn't borrow my computer to my mates for the weekend since it was a monster to carry. So no mates bought one. 2. Suffer Ye The Ports! This alone killed the Amstrad. It was capable of su...

Re: Pc Games you'd like to see

Stay away from "the big hitters" that everyone always focusses on. They've been done to death already. So no Monkey Island, Doom, Wolfenstein, Command & Conquer and that stuff. Give us some Warcraft 1. Dig deep into The Elder Scrolls history. Not mentioning Falcon 3.0 should also be a capital offence.

Re: So when did this forum go all modern?

I only occasionaly drop in here now, I used to be a regular ;) I've noticed that most of the stuff on here now is pretty-much about modern stuff ps3 360 wii! So what happened to the retro-site I used to love visiting? Put simply: you stopped coming here. Glib comment aside it's the reason most foru...

Re: Coin op you stuck the most cash in?

I'm tempted to say SF2, but memory recalls that I was never a serious multiplayer gamer on that. I preferred the easier and longer singleplayer experience for my dough.

I'd say R-Type. All those ten pences and I still couldn't beat it. What a monster.

Re: JRPG's Suck

1 - Let me Roleplay. Seriously, JRPGs have always been about you playing the Designers Character, not your own. Consequently any decisions you have to make are reliant solely upon what he wanted you to make at that point. You have no free will. If he decides your character (secretly himself) wants ...

Re: Buying an XBOX 360 Tomorrow, advice needed.. RROD? S Mod

So you have to pay to play online multiplayer? on any game? Thats a bit harsh, whats the damage £££? Also you say about sony being better with regards to region free, does this mean the ps3 will play NTSC games but the 360 wont? If you buy a brand new Xbox 360 (which you should. Buying Pre-owned mi...

Re: Buying an XBOX 360 Tomorrow, advice needed.. RROD? S Mod

Keep the Xbox 360 well ventilated. Also try to install games to the Hard Drive to stop the disc from constantly spinning (causing yet more heat) and you should be A-Ok for years. Plus Microsoft give a massively generous 3 year full warranty. :D Also thevulture seems to be the one to ask for which ve...

Re: Gaming's biggest tool?

Also Dreamcast was just at the cusp of titles beginning to sell in their multi-millions. The pre-PS1 era saw anything over 50,000 as break-even sales and anything approaching 100,000 as a big success. PS1 and especially PS2 showed us that million sellers were not only possible but likely. It's not j...

Re: Am i the only one

I'm this gen. I have an xbox 360, DS and wii. A few people here complain that more mainstream stuff gets talked about on this forum than anything retro, but to my mind that's because most threads tend to be about this gen. If the retro threads aren't here - we can't comment can we? :) To my mind as ...

Re: Who's getting a 3DS then?

On the subject of games it's always Nintendo themselves that do the best games for their own systems (bar a few choice examples) so buying a 3DS for Nintendo's output alone seems like a very good idea. You won't really be let down. I need to hold one in my own hands first, since it's impossible to c...
