Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I picked up a game called Vektor Wars on sale on the eShop for 0.98.... really recommend it. I wave-based arena FPD with some incredible TRON-style graphics. Honestly, a steal at the price.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Picked up Vektor Wars for 0.97 and found a surprisingly decent TRON-themed arena shooter. Really good fun, especially at the price, highly recommended. Also Ghouls n Ghosts on MD Mini.... at least I'm trying to play it.... I was never great at it, 4th level was my best back in the day, but goddamn, ...

Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

Transformed was very hard in later levels such as unlocking the Afterburner plane. My friend Tuna bought Sonic Team and he said it’s censored hot. I managed to 3-star everything in it, and I don't consider myself particularly great by any means. Most trouble came with those events where you had to ...

Re: The first games you completed.

I remember being able to play TRON: Deadly Discs on Intellivision for so long that I usually ended up having to turn it off. I finished Super Cobra on Inty too, but I'm sure that just kept looping.

Re: Mega Drive Mini

Got mine and I'm very, very happy. I was a SNES gamer growing up, I only really experienced the MD via a mate. Well, I did have a JPN one some 18-20 years ago with a sizeable collection, before prices went stupid, but I bought that much stuff in such a short period of time back then, that half of it...

Re: What are you currently playing?

REsi 2. It's good stuff - controls well, smooth, looks good, and the Police Station itself is one of the most cohesive and impressive environments I've ever explored in a video game. I'm probably in a small minority that would have preferred a remake more along the lines of the GC version of the ori...

Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

Out Run (US Gold - Speccy) LOVED this in the arcade, screenshots looked 'okay' but boy oh boy was it slow. I 'tried' to like it but god it was awful They were also fraudulent, the screen shots show in magazines at the time looked NOTHING like the finished Speccy version. The Amiga shots were also a...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Ninja Spirit. It's a swine, still can't make it any further than the 4th round, but it's definitely one of the best side scrollers I've ever played for sheer unrelenting action. F-Zero on Switch. I swear I've probably spent more hours on this over the years than just about any other game I've ever p...

Re: Favourite Resident Evil?

Original / REmake by a mile. Second loses too much atmosphere for me, and I find the Nemesis in 3 downright aggravating.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Replaying Symphony of the Night, which is still one of the greatest examples of this type of game ever conceived. There are definite issues with balance and difficulty, but the rest of it is done so well, that's it's difficult to complain. Also dipped my toes into Yakuza Kiwami 2. It's.... yeah, Yak...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I think Yakuza 0 is my favourite of the ones I've played so far (0/Kiwami/5/6). I've got Kiwami 2 on the way for my birthday in a few weeks, time to get sucked in all over again. Currently playing the amazing Ninja Spirit, which stealth-released on the Switch shop last night. Surely one of the best ...

Re: Retrogaming Spotlight: Kung-Fu Master

My word, that Spectrum version is seriously impressive, is that running on a standard 128k? Wasn't aware of the existence of KFM2 either, I'd love to play that. Can't understand the attitude of folk that would rather hoard something like that than release it into a community of enthusiasts that gets...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I've never tried it myself (honest), but apparently you can also sit outside the arena, throw dung pies over one of the walls, and poison him before you step foot in there. I didn't have to resort to that. Made it up the stairs and dropped on his head while attacking 4 or 5 times did it. Got ...
