I have both games (just not to hand) and if my memory serves me right, I don't think there was play-offs, it was straight 3-up, 3-down. I might be miss-remembering though!

I play a couple of games of Space Harrier 2 on the C64. Its not a terrible game, It moves at a fast pace and lots of enemies recognisable from the Arcade.
